Max is about 5 years old and is a wonderful dog. He is very playful & sweet. He loves to cuddle and does this quirky tilt of the head when talking to you. He’s amazing with kids and other dogs. He deserves a family who is going to give him a lot of attention.

About Me: Name: Winston Breed (or best guess): Mixed - maybe Shar Pei - Cocker Approximate Age: 2-3 yrs Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 25 lb Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: willingness to deal with skin allergies Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:  Winston was surrendered by his owner when she was no longer able to give him what he needed.  Winston is a great guy.  He loves attention and to go for walks.  He has been good with the other dogs he has met.  He is good for car rides.  He is a super loving and happy guy. The other thing possible adopters need to know about him is that Winston has allergies.  He is currently being treated with Cytopoint and Apoquel as well as routine baths.  Since starting that, his skin is looking great and no more itching.  We did do allergy testing, and mostly he is allergic to dust mites and cats.  If his adopters would like we have information on getting him specific treatments against those allergies we have the needed information, or just continue with the medication as needed.  He may also be sensitive to some foods, we keep him on a venison/sweet potato diet that he seems to do well with.  Without medication, Winston becomes very itchy and will scratch himself raw, so it is important his adopter is willing to continue with any needed medication/treatment so he doesn't suffer.   Everyone who meets Winston loves him.  He is in a foster home and doing great, but now he wants his forever home! We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS March 2, 2024, 6:39 pm

Male, 4 yrs 1 mo
West Allis, WI
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
My name is Vinnie and I’m 70 pounds of pure love. I love snuggling my foster parents and mom says I’m a bed hog, whatever that is! My favorite activity is going for car rides; I'm an excellent co-pilot and give great directions to the treat store. Since I'm only 4 yrs old, I would love someone who would commit to continuing with my training. I'm an A+ student but since I get very excited around other dogs, I would prefer to be the only dog in the house and have all the lovin's for myself. I know sit, ask to go out for potties, and am working on my leash manners, but I am still fresh out of the shelter, so this is all new to me. My foster mom says it's probably best if I don't live with kiddos under the age of 12 or kitties because I don't know my own size. I dont get it, 70lbs is a perfect size lap dog! Most importantly, I need a forever family to hold my big, squishy face and get lots of kisses. I sure hope I can find you guys soon. XOXO Vinnie

Good with dogs, Good with cats,
Sun is the name, and being a cute puppy is my game. I’m currently 12 weeks old. I am playful and spunky and full of energy. I love playing with toys and snuggling too. I’m currently in a foster home with cats and dogs and co-exist nicely. Because I am still a puppy I will need ongoing support with potty training, crate training and basic commands.DATCP# 483538
