How this pet arrived: Guppy was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on March 2, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Guppy! This sweet, wiggly girl may take a moment to get her bearings in new situations, but she warms up with a little patience and understanding. Once she feels comfortable, Guppy's affectionate personality shines - she enjoys gentle petting, tasty treats (especially cheese!), and being near her favorite people. Guppy would thrive in a calm, understanding home that gives her a little time to settle in and feel safe. She may not be a dog who feels confident enough to go everywhere with you, but she's more than happy to stay at home and hang out! If there are children in the home, they should be 8 years or older and come in for a meet-and-greet to ensure a great match. If you're looking for a fun little pup who will stick by your side, Guppy might just be the perfect catch! Come in and ask about adopting today! At SDHS:Guppy has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. She is now ready for her new home! Story
How this pet arrived: Walrus was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on March 2, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Walrus is a tender-hearted girl who's just waiting to feel safe enough to shine. She can be shy with new people and situations, so she's looking for a calm, low-key home where she can take things at her own pace. Think of her as a "slow and steady wins the race" kind of pup-she'll get there, she just needs time! Helping Walrus thrive means keeping her world small at first and letting her build confidence gradually. She'll do best with a patient family who lets her come to them on her own terms and celebrates the little wins along the way. Walrus would benefit from going home with another social, confident dog (they can even be one of her kennelmates!) to help show her the ropes, and she'd do best in a home with children over 10. With consistency, gentle encouragement, and lots of understanding, Walrus is sure to blossom into a loyal, loving companion-and watching her come out of her shell will be incredibly rewarding.Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Cream Weight: 21 Age: 4yrs 2mths 2wks
