My Standard Poodle’s name is Sir. I rescued him about a year ago from a sticky situation back when I was on shore duty. At the time, work wasn’t a chaotic as it is for me now.. and I also had a partner who worked from home so it was easy to give Sir the attention he needs. Since then I’ve moved here, to San Diego, all alone with just Sir and it’s been a struggle. I’m back on Sea Duty and my job is a lot more demanding. I’m being sent on detachments left and right and I’m unable to care for Sir the way that I once was able to. I’m looking for a new home for him. He is reactive to other dogs, so please be aware of that. He would do well in a home where he is the only pet. He’s good with kids and overall, he just a good energetic dog. He’s house trained and crate trained. He just deserves more than I’m currently able to give him.

He can be a little shy at first, but once he warms up, he is affectionate, gentle, playful, and basically sunshine with curls.   He is not hyper, not jumpy, not barky - just a kind, easygoing boy with a wonderful demeanor. Dashie is great with other dogs, wonderful with kids, potty trained, crate trained, rides well in the car, and does the cutest little zoomies when life gets exciting.   He loves the pool, so his dream home would have kids to love, a family to follow around, and maybe a pool where he can live out his best doodle-mermaid life.  Dashie came to rescue as an owner surrender after living on a farm.
