IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING MIA, PLEASE FIRST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://pepperspals.org/adoption-application/ Mia is a beautiful, 8-year-old, pure-bred American Pit Bull Terrier who loves to snuggle and be with her people. This super-smart girl is kennel trained, potty trained, and good with small animals – including cats! Mia is good with most dogs (after a slow intro), but large dogs and high-energy dogs will not make great long-term companions. The dog park scene is much too chaotic for Mia, and she much prefers quietly lounging in her own private backyard. Yard time is a must for this sunbathing queen! At the end of the day (or whenever you’re away), Mia prefers the peace and comfort of her kennel. The structure of kennel-time helps settle Mia’s mind when she’s alone. Mia thrives in a structured environment where she knows exactly what to expect. We don’t know much about Mia’s past, but it’s clear she was abused and came to us with trust issues. The cool thing about Mia is that she wants to trust and looks to her people for guidance in situations that make her uncomfortable. She is very handler-motivated and excellent at listening to verbal cues. This special girl could use an exceptional dog owner who understands dog communication, is adept at recognizing their body language, and is comfortable advocating for her personal space. Please first fill out an adoption application if you’re interested in setting up an appointment to meet Mia: https://pepperspals.org/adoption-application/ **$100 Adoption fee includes: vaccinations, dewormed, spay, and microchipped.

Story
Mable is from the reservation, and born in the winter of 2023. She almost died but through love and compassion she pulled through. She was then given to me to keep safe so her original family could secure their lifestyle. Now she is 2 years old, and full of energy. This energy is very well spent training tricks, learning routines, and lots of fetch. She is extra affectionate and loves to cuddle. The only major drawback is she is very anxious. I’m not sure what happened with her original family in those early months, but she has always been very reactive to other dogs and men. I don’t have the skills to help her anxiety. I have given a lot time and training, but my life has changed. She has the energy and diligence of a working dog, and she needs the resources to live her fullest life. She’s been nurtured with love and patience. What she needs now is more than I can provide. She really is a sweetheart. She steals socks(probably a comfort thing) Favorite toy is flirt pole

Story
Roo is so loving! She’s almost 5 years old. She has been raised with her sister who she was rescued with. She is very snuggly but also loves to play. She gets along well with other dogs. She would be great with school aged children, they just need to be old enough to respect her boundaries. She has never done anything more than growl in warning at my toddler but I want her to be more comfortable at home and don’t want to take any chances as he gets more rambunctious and my other baby grows. She just needs the love and attention that she deserves and I am unable to give her that right now. She does have allergies and gets medicine from the vet but she is not high maintenance. She is my first baby and I just want to give her a better life.
