Story
We found Stella in our neighborhood, abandoned at about 6 months old. She is now about 2 years old and we love her so much. She is such a sweet dog who just melts into you when you pet and cuddle her. She is great with our 3 kids and is best friends with our cat and other dog. She is shy, and takes a second to meet new people- probably from her first 6 months of life but is very loving and protective of her family and loves us so much. We are only looking for a new family for our Stella because we just found out our youngest child is very allergic. Stella is very chill. She plays a lot with our other dog but doesn’t love walks when cars are around. In secluded areas- she loves to run and play and fetch.

Story
COURTESY POST Meet Betty.  Betty is a stunningly gorgeous GSD.  Betty is 5 years-old and is  a very large GSD.  Betty has many wonderful qualities, she is loving, loyal, eager to please, housetrained and a joy to be around.  Betty does need to be the only dog in the household.  Betty is looking for a family that can keep her active, walking/hiking/running. She wants to be your loyal companion.  Betty does need a home with a yard.  Betty has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Her adoption fee of $350 helps offset the cost of medical expenses. If you live in the Phoenix metro area and think Betty could be the right fit for you, please complete an application* at: https://www.helpadogsmile.org/adoption-application/ .     * Please note that the application is not a commitment to adopt–it is a tool used to help determine if a dog and applicant would make a good match. Applications are forwarded to the foster family for review and follow-up. April 29, 2024, 11:19 pm

Story
I got Xoey when she was 8 weeks old from a breeder off of Facebook Marketplace. She’s currently around 2 to 2.5 years old. She is not spayed. She is very playful and needs a lot of attention and loving. Unfortunately due to lack of space at my current living situation and my brother just had his newborn, I am unable to keep her. I’m looking for a home that will be able to take care of her every need and spend lots of time with her! She used to be around my other dog, a german shepherd rottweiler mix, prior to moving into my current home. She is house trained, very rarely destroys anything in the house and if she does, it’s typically food related or trash with food remnants. She does need training, as she does whine a lot when outside alone (even with food and water) or when in the kennel for periods at a time.

Story
Bernard aka “Bernie” is a handsome 4-5 year old German Shepherd who has been waiting for his perfect forever family to come along. Bernie is a special guy who is a volunteer favorite among many at the rescue. He has a few quirks which has caused him to be with us for quite some time. He will need a family with patience and commitment, and one who really understands the breed. Bernie can be selective on the people in his friend group, so we will require that any potential adopter comes to meet Bernie multiple times to ensure it is a good fit and set Bernie up for success. Initial introductions will involve a muzzle, so please be aware of this. Once Bernie trusts you and builds a bond with you, he is an amazing, loving, happy and sweet boy. However it is important to know that in a home setting, anybody new coming into the house will need to take introductions very slow. German Shepherd experience is a requirement. German shepherds are known to have hip problems, and unfortunately Bernie is affected by this. In our care he has had 2 FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) Surgery’s to correct his hips. However one of his hips never healed properly so he does have a limp on that leg from time to time. Bernard is an awesome boy once you take the time to get to know him. He is smart and loves his people. He will need a home without children and would do best as an only dog. If you are willing to give Bernie a chance, please fill out an adoption application. If you can give Bernard an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/ We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks. Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
