She knows all the basics from sit to paw.  Lately, we have been working on walking without a leash.   She stays close for a good bit, then tends to get distracted, but overall, she is doing well.  She is full of puppy energy, but is very docile around other dogs at the park.  She is a gentle giant. Very intelligent and wants to please, but she can get a little sneaky about the garbage if left out.   She is crate-trained but has learned how to get out.   We want an active, loving home that appreciates an intelligent, working breed.  She has separation anxiety, so a home with a companion dog or someone home most of the time would be ideal. Because she is an intelligent, working breed, we would like an adopter who is willing to provide training and structure for her. Age: 1 year Weight: 70 lbs Temperament: Gets along with larger/sturdy kids, other dogs, and is fine with dog-savvy cats (she may want to play initially) Training: Housetrained, has basic training, crate trained, but escapes Vetting: Spayed,  up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:     salvador.stewart@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Kiaayo is a young, energetic, intelligent dog who thrives with structure, consistency, and confident leadership. He is affectionate, playful, and loves being active, but he needs an experienced home that can meet his mental and physical needs. Kiya would do best in a home: • With experienced dog owners • Without small children • Where he can receive consistent training, boundaries, and routine • With space to move and burn energy (yard or active lifestyle preferred) He bonds deeply with his people and does best when expectations are clear. Kiaayo is not a “first-time dog” and would truly shine with someone who understands high-energy dogs and enjoys training and engagement. We love kiaayo and want to see him placed in a home that’s a better fit for him long-term — where he can feel successful, calm, and fulfilled.
