Story
Duke is a beautiful, friendly, loving boy in search of his forever family! Duke is estimated to be 4yr old, he weighs around 60lbs, and is a Lab/Pitbull mix. Poor Duke (along with his sister) were abandoned in an apartment building, where he was covered in feces, urine, and was terrified. He spent time at an overcrowded Atlanta shelter where he was incredibly stressed. A wonderful foster stepped up for Duke, and he&#39s now flourishing in his foster home! This sweet guy has a wonderful personality - he is fun loving, happy, and affectionate! He has a medium energy level and enjoys hanging outside in his fenced yard, playing with his foster siblings, or just being by your side getting all the pets! Duke likes everyone he meets, and has done well with kids, and the senior female dogs in his foster home. Duke is a certified good boy - he&#39s potty trained, crate trained (8hr) and knows his basic commands. He listens to his foster Mom very well and is also gentle when taking treats! He would do well in a house with or without other dogs, and although he&#39d love a fenced yard, this is not a requirement. Duke is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Nathaniel is an adorable, affectionate Shepherd mix who is 4 years old and weighs 57 lbs. He recently lost his foster home due to no fault of his own and is in immediate need of a foster or adopter to get him out of boarding. Nathaniel has been through training, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. He is a bit shy & timid from his extended time in boarding, but prior to losing his foster home he was a happy, playful, loyal dog who loved being with his people and doing zoomies through his house & yard. He has medium energy and is gentle when taking treats from your hand. He&#39s looking for a person who will help him build confidence so a home without other dogs or with submissive female dog(s) would be ideal. Meet Tommy, a handsome 2-year-old, tri-colored German Shepherd mix who was rescued at the very last minute from a crowded county shelter. Initially described as shy and timid, Tommy simply needs some self-confidence. Tommy is very smart and eager to please.. While he can be a little unsure at first, he is quickly learning that life can be full of love, kindness, and fun. Each day, he grows braver--wagging his tail more freely, discovering toys, and learning to be confident. He is dog-friendly and would thrive best in a home with another confident dog who can guide him and show him the ropes. Tommy is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and sleeps soundly through the night. Although the crate is not his favorite place, he settles quietly after a few minutes and is content once he feels safe. According to his trainers, Tommy is calm and confident on leash, non-reactive to people during walks, and loves interacting with other dogs. He is playful, learns from other dogs, and is steadily building confidence while mastering his manners. Although he tends to be a little timid and is not treat-motivated, he is making great progress. He would be happiest with a family that has a strong leader who will continue his training and build his confidence with patience and affection. A fenced yard would be wonderful for him to play and explore, but what he truly wants is a doggy sibling that can teach him to be the best dog he can be. Tommy is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready to find his forever family. With love and care, this shy boy will blossom into a devoted companion.
