You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Greer is a relatively pint-sized pit bull type girl who originally arrived at the shelter from the city pound on 11/6/2025. She is short, stocky, and approximately 4 years old. A little over a month after she came in, Greer was adopted, but the people decided she just wasn't the best fit for their household and made the hard decision to return her after 5 months on 5/9/2026. She has been vet checked, spayed and microchipped, and her fee is $150.  Greer's adopters loved her very much and put her through professional obedience training. She really would love a home in which she is not left alone for long hours. She has done okay with some well mannered male dogs. She does bond very closely to her people, and she will regular regular exercise. She is strong and active and loves to have space to romp and play. She would do best in a home without cats. Kids over 10 should be okay. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ahri came to the shelter on 8/7/2026 as an owner surrender. Her owners' lives underwent some big changes, and they could no longer give her the time and attention she deserves. She is a large and mature dog who is around 8 years old and looks mostly like a white German shepherd. She also resembles a collie in some ways, and she is very sensitive and intelligent, as both shepherds and collies are. Her coat is thick, dense, and fairly long, and she has been bathed and brushed out by our volunteers. Ahri has now been vet checked and updated on bloodwork and vaccinations. She was previously spayed and microchipped and her fee is $125. We had to work with Ahri for several weeks after her arrival as she slowly started to adjust to the shelter. Her whole world was upended so it was understandable. She would do best in an experienced home with a securely fenced yard. Ahri will not be the type to jump into someone's lap right away, for sure, but with time and a lot of patience, she'll become a person's most loyal friend. She will shed and require plenty of brushing to prevent her coat from matting. She has had basic training and has done okay with male dogs of similar size. She has done okay with kids, too, but we do not know about cats. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Netta arrived from the city pound on 7/27/2026 when her legal stray hold was finished. She appears to be a pit bull type mix, possibly with boxer or maybe even pointer, and she's approximately 3 years old. Netta is strong, stocky and is enthusiastic in her affection. She has been vet checked, spayed, and microchipped, and her fee is $150. Netta does seem to have had a little basic training but will need some work on leash walking. She is very loving and will need some regular exercise. She's also content to chill with someone on the couch. Netta does really well with male dogs. She has a pretty easygoing energy. She should be fine with kids. We don't know about cats. She would be a lovely companion! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved.
