Story
Here's Lucy!! ....and she's got some 'splaining to do! She'd like you to know that she's beautiful, smart, funny and all of that, but she plays catch like an major leaguer - and she will play until you are exhausted :) She came in as a stray on New Year's Day. She is a Senior gal, but don't tell her that - she just wants to have fun!! Lucy would love to join your family and seems to do fine with kids and other animals. She keeps a clean kennel here at the shelter, so should just need a bit of training in her new home to get used to the new set up and she'll be ready to get out in the yard and play ball!! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
I am Sam. Doc thinks I was born mid 2020. I enjoy long naps on the beach, long naps on the couch, long naps anywhere. I don't like too many stairs. I would love to have a human sibling. I hope your dog likes being around me too, but am okay being an only dog. I am not sure how I feel about cats. I'm gentle when you share your snacks with me and may drool a bit when getting my water. I know sit, down, paw, wait, and here. Come down and we can go for a walk and get to know each other!
