Story
Gunner is a great dog who isn't quite used to having little kids in his house. We recommend older children for him to be successful in a new home. Gunner is playful and loving. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't care for the cats much. Gunner is a bit of a parrot because he loves to lay on the back of whatever you're sitting on! He loves to be brushed and petted. :) You have to meet him to appreciate his quirky personality. Gunner has a bit of anxiety and would benefit from only having 1 other animal in the home or no other animals in the home. We feel he would also benefit from someone being home a majority of the time. He really is a good boy who just needs a chance to love someone. Gunner is microchipped and crate trained. He does howl once in a while in the night. :) Come meet him!

Story
Here's Lucy!! ....and she's got some 'splaining to do! She'd like you to know that she's beautiful, smart, funny and all of that, but she plays catch like an major leaguer - and she will play until you are exhausted :) She came in as a stray on New Year's Day. She is a Senior gal, but don't tell her that - she just wants to have fun!! Lucy would love to join your family and seems to do fine with kids and other animals. She keeps a clean kennel here at the shelter, so should just need a bit of training in her new home to get used to the new set up and she'll be ready to get out in the yard and play ball!! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
Hello! I'm Tara, a 2 year old, sweet German Shepherd mix. I was transferred to Paws and Claws Humane Society from the Owatonna Police Department. I was picked up as a stray there and never claimed. That bummed me out a bit, but I am hopeful my new family will come find me soon! I have a lot of puppy energy and could use some help learning how to be a well rounded canine citizen. My ideal family will take me on adventures and give me as much love as I give them! I can be a bit dog selective and may do better with male dogs or submissive female dogs as I like to be the one in charge. I have not been tested with cats at this time. If I sound like I could be your dream girl, apply today! My adoption fee is $300 + $30 microchip fee + tax
