Story
Princess (A118090) is an 11-year-old husky who weighed over 50 lbs at intake!12/13/25 This sweet older gal is Princess! Despite her age, she remains a curious, playful, and incredibly sweet girl, although she can be a little timid. Princess thrives in a calm, stable environment where she feels safe and loved. She enjoys leisurely walks on a leash and loves car rides, making her a great companion for someone who appreciates gentle outdoor activities and quiet moments together. Princess is a truly special dog who will reward her family with loyalty, affection, and companionship. She is looking for someone who will appreciate her gentle soul and give her the loving retirement she deserves. Princess was said to get along with other dogs and children. Please make sure any and all introductions are done in a slow and controlled manner. Courtesy of the shelter fund, Princess was sent out for a senior workup and dental cleaning! If you are interested in meeting Princess, please give us a call!07/10/19 Princess came to the shelter because her owner could no longer care for her. She is an outside dog and has been trained for mushing; she generally ran as a wheel dog. Princess is extremely shy with strangers and will do best in a home with those that understand they will need to go slow with her. If you have children, please bring them down to meet Princess prior to adoption. Princess will need to be on a leash at all times outside- if she is loose or gets spooked and takes off she will not come to you. While at the shelter Princess got away from a tender in our fenced dog walking yard and we had to bring her sister Blackie in to retrieve her. Princess was kept with her sister Blackie and another dog, but may not do as well with unfamiliar dogs, as she has not been socialized extensively. If you have another dog in the home, she should meet that dog prior to adoption to ensure she can live happily with it. If you have room in your life for a pair, Princess would enjoy being adopted with her sister Blackie- they live and work well together. Blackie may be a confidence booster for her and together they might be great candidates for a child's beginning mushing team.December 29, 2025, 7:13 pm

Story
Simon (A130511) is a 2-year-old German Shepherd x Lab mix who weighed 60.8 pounds on intake! 12/30/25 This goofy boy is Simon! Simon was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of his own, but sadly, because his owners ran into housing issues with these cold temperatures. Simon was very loved and eagerly awaiting his next adventure! He would still benefit from attending a basic obedience class with a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. He is looking for a patient owner who will continue to work with him. Simon was stated to still have the occasional accident inside the house and HATES being kenneled. You might notice he has a little rub mark on his nose from previously being kenneled. Simon was said to great with people of all ages including babies and children! He also previously lived with other dogs and did well with them! He was said to really enjoy canine companionship! Simon was noted to have a high prey drive and would chase after poultry. He would do best in a home without small critters that might be tempting to go after. If you are interested in meeting Simon, please let us know! 03/29/23 These little cuties are a mix between a German Shepherd and a Labrador Retriever. They were surrendered to the shelter due to the cost of caring for the litter. At the shelter, they have been social and friendly. Puppies are a lot of work and each puppy is looking for an owner who will be devoted to their care and training. They will need help with potty training, basic commands, positive socialization, and so much more! Bringing your pup to a puppy obedience class is a great way to start their training and get in some extra socialization! When these little ones grow up, they are looking for an owner who can keep them both mentally and physically stimulated. If you are interested in meeting one of these sweet little pups, please give the shelter a call!December 31, 2025, 12:24 am

Story
Felix (A134781) is a 3-year-old German Shepherd x Husky mix who weighed 60 pounds on intake! 01/08/26 Felix, previously known as Indie, is back at the shelter and looking for his new place to call home! While at the shelter, Felix has proven that he has spunk! He is quite the puller and wants to go, go, go! Information from previous homes state that Felix is an escape artist and is known to jump fences. We would not put this past him. He should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised when in a fenced in yard. Felix is an extreme puller on a leash and would highly benefit from working with a certified trainer. We also wonder if he missed his calling for running on a rec sled dog team or learning the art of skijoring or bikejoring in the summer months! He is also very playful and has found joy in playing fetch with the care staff! It was noted in a prior home that he was housebroken, but at the shelter, we have found that he has consistently had accidents in his kennel, so he may need some reminders with potty training as he settles in. Felix is a bit of a handful but has a loving spirit. If you are up for the challenge and are interested in meeting him, please let us know! 08/20/25 Indie was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of his own. He was described as a very loving dog who loves to cuddle! In his last home, Indie was said to do well with people of all ages including babies and children! He was also said to do well with other dogs and cats. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new potential friends to help set him up for success. Indie does have the basics down and was said to be kennel trained, housebroken, rides well in a car, and knows his basic commands. He does, however, still have a few naughty habits like getting into the trash, digging/chewing, and jumping on people/counters. Indie was also known to jump over fences if given the opportunity. He should always be on a leash, secure tie-out, or supervised when in a fenced-in yard. On arrival at the shelter we did find that Indie had an ear infection and was treated by the shelter vet. It was also recommended that he remain on a limited-ingredient diet to help with the prevention of future ear infections. Indie is also looking for an active home that can keep him happy and out of trouble! If you are interested in meeting Indie, please let us know! 05/29/24 This goofy boy is Indie! Indie is an absolute sweetheart, but he does suffer from anxiety. He always wants his people to be with him, and if left alone, he is known to be destructive. Indie is not kennel trained, but we highly encourage his next owner to make him comfortable with the kennel and reach out to a certified trainer to continue working on his manners. Indie was said to be housebroken and knows the basic commands of sit and come. Indie is an active dog looking for his next adventure buddy and a bonus â&#194&#128&#194&#147 he rides well in a car! Historically he does well with children, strangers, and adults. He was also said to do well with dogs and to be curious of cats. Please ensure you are doing appropriate introductions with all new animals. Indieâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s curiosity may get him into trouble! Overall, Indie is a happy pup looking for an owner with the time and devotion to continue with his care! If you are interested in meeting him, please let us know! January 9, 2026, 4:48 pm
