Leia (A117934) is a 7-year-old AK Husky x Lab mix who weighed 41.6 pounds on intake! 07/29/26 This pretty girl is Leia! Leia is back at the shelter due to no fault of her own and would love to find her new people to grow old with! She was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog. She has experience with children 10-years and up and her surrendering owner felt she would probably do good with smaller kiddos, but may knock them over. Ensuring you are supervising interactions is important! Leia was also said to do well with other dogs and cats, but again, introductions are key! Leia was said to be kenneled, housebroken, rides well in car, and knows all her basic commands! She is a smart sweet girl! It was noted that she can be quite the talker! If you are interested in meeting Leia, please let us know! 12/04/25 This striking girl is Leia! Leia was surrendered to the shelter because she required urgent veterinary care. Leia had surgery for a bowel obstruction after eating paper towels. It is very important that she is supervised in her next home and does not have access to the trash! She is definitely an opportunist! We encourage her next owner to work on kennel training! We have found that Leia has had accidents in her kennel and may need some reminders on potty training when she settles into her new home. We do not know Leia’s experience level with children or other animals. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with new people and animals. Chewy (A141750) is a 5-year-old AK Husky who weighed 53 pounds on intake! 04/16/26 This lover boy is Chewy! Chewy was surrendered to the shelter with his friend Tequila! These kiddos have been living the outdoor sled dog life. They are used to living on a doghouse, so if you plan on transitioning them indoors, keep in mind they will need help with all the basics. However, they may be keen to learn! They have previously run a dog team, but their surrendering owner felt they may enjoy being on a smaller rec team or even becoming your skijor buddy. They are an active breed, so they will need continued mental and physical stimulation. Both Tequila and Chewy were said to do well with children, strangers, and adults. They also have historically done well with other dogs and livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new people and other animals. Spruce (A143114) is an 8-month-old husky who weighed almost 40 pounds at intake!08/22/26 This super sweet and affectionate guy is Spruce! Spruce arrived at the shelter via the overnight dropoff kennels with incomplete owner surrender paperwork. Unfortunately, due to no owner info or signature confirming the surrender of Spruce to the shelter, he had to wait nearly a week on a stray wait before being assessed for the adoption program. Now that he has completed his mandatory wait period and has been neutered and cleared by the vet, he is ready to find his new forever home! Spruce was said to do well with humans of all ages, as well as cats and other dogs. Please make sure all introductions are still done in a slow and controlled manner to allow for the best possible outcome. He was said to ride well in the car and to generally mind well. Spruce was described as being gentle, outgoing, friendly and affectionate. He has been so eager to be with people at the shelter, that he tried to get up and join a meeting while still feeling the effects of sedation from his neuter!
