They were found thin and living in unsanitary conditions, without regular access to clean bedding, adequate food, or fresh water.Since coming into our care, Spirit has made wonderful progress. He has gained weight, built confidence, learned to sit, and absolutely loves getting pets and affection. Watching him blossom has been incredibly rewarding.Because of his past, it’s likely that Spirit missed out on the socialization he needed as a young dog. Undersocialized dogs can feel uncomfortable or unsure when meeting new people, experiencing unfamiliar places, or navigating new situations. Spirit will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to help him continue building confidence at his own pace.His ideal person will be patient, compassionate, and excited to continue his training using positive reinforcement. However, she still exhibits behaviors that indicate she experiences some fear and uncertainty when meeting new people or encountering unfamiliar environments. Undersocialized dogs can feel uncomfortable or unsure when meeting new people, experiencing unfamiliar places, or navigating new situations. For Midnight, patience and understanding will be especially important as she continues learning that the world can be a safe place.Midnight will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her build confidence at her own pace. Her ideal person will be patient, compassionate, and excited to continue her training using positive reinforcement.
