Story
Meet Lucy! This beautiful 7-year-old Husky is the perfect mix of sweet, social, and easygoing. Lucy loves meeting new people and greets everyone with her relaxed and friendly personality. She’s the kind of dog who enjoys being part of the action but is also happy to just hang out and enjoy your company.Lucy can do well with other dogs who understand her playful Husky personality. She can be a little mouthy and very vocal when she gets excited, so she’ll need canine friends who are tolerant and confident around her communication style. True to her breed, Lucy loves to “talk” and express herself! Lucy however has not been known to do well with cats - she is a bit too interested in chasing them around. Like many huskies, Lucy can become destructive in the home without proper exercise and stimulation. All in all, Lucy is a very sweet lady who will thrive in a home where her husky mannerisms are understood and appreciated. If you`re looking for a talkative, mature, and beautiful companion, look no further!

Story
Atlas here. The tall, handsome shepherd with the intense stare and the dramatic “stranger danger” commentary package included at no extra charge. I take my job of supervising the world very seriously, and sometimes I can come in a little… strong. Okay, very strong. But underneath all the barking and tough-guy energy is a smart young dog still figuring out that not every new person, sound, or situation is actually a top-secret security threat. The truth is, once I decide you’re one of my people, I’m loyal to the core. I want to be near you, learn with you, and tackle life as a team. I’m active, intelligent, and always paying attention, which means I’ll thrive with someone who understands shepherd brains and appreciates that I’m not the kind of dog who comes pre-programmed and effortless. I need guidance, patience, and someone confident enough to help me feel safe while I learn the world isn’t quite so suspicious.I can be particular about certain handling and I appreciate people who respect my space and listen to what I’m comfortable with. Building trust with me is important, and when you do, you’ll see a completely different side of me emerge. I’m not looking for someone to “dominate” me — I’m looking for someone steady, experienced, and kind who can help me channel all this big shepherd energy into being the best version of myself. If you’ve got an active lifestyle, are shepherd savvy, and has room in your heart for a young dog with huge potential and an even bigger personality, I just might be your guy. Bonus points if you appreciate a loyal shadow who will proudly patrol the house like it’s his full-time career.

Story
Meet Koda! This handsome 5 year old husky is looking for a fresh start and a family to call his own. Koda came to the shelter in rough shape, but we won’t let his past define him. Every day, he continues to show us what a resilient and gentle soul he truly is.Koda can be shy and reserved when meeting new people. New situations and unfamiliar faces can make him a little unsure at first, but with patience, kindness, and a little encouragement, he has shown that he is capable of building trust and finding comfort in gentle affection. Once he begins to feel safe, you can see glimpses of the sweet dog hiding beneath his cautious exterior.Despite his shyness, Koda has been nothing but tolerant, calm, and docile during his time at the shelter. He appreciates having his boundaries respected and, like many Huskies, prefers affection to be on his own terms. He may not be the type of dog to immediately jump into your lap, but earning his trust is a rewarding experience. Once he is comfortable, Koda is very affectionate and really enjoys being next to his person. Koda is looking for a quiet, understanding home where he can decompress and learn that the world can be a safe and happy place. He has previously lived with a child, and older children who can respect his need for space would likely be a good match. Koda has shown some resource guarding tendencies with other dogs, so he would be best as the only dog in a household, or could likely live with another dog if his adopters are dog savvy and committed to managing his resource guarding. While he has not lived with cats before, slow and careful introductions may help him successfully adjust to a feline companion. One of Koda’s many strengths is that he is already house-trained and crate-trained, giving him a great foundation as he transitions into a new home. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, we believe he has the potential to continue growing in confidence and become a wonderful companion. If you have a peaceful home, a gentle hand, and the patience to help a shy dog blossom, Koda could be the perfect fit. Watching a dog like Koda come out of his shell, learn to trust, and discover the joys of family life is an incredibly rewarding experience. He’s ready for his second chance - could it be with you?
