Story
Hi, I’m Thai. I’ll admit it—I like to take my time getting to know new situations. I might hang back for a moment at first, but give me a little encouragement (and maybe a tasty treat), and I’ll be right there with you, ready to head out on our next adventure.Once I’m out and about, I’m a pretty easygoing walking companion. I can get a bit eager if something interesting catches my eye, but I respond well when you guide me, and I’m quite manageable for a big, husky-type guy. I enjoy exploring the world at my own pace—sniffing, wandering, and taking it all in. I’m not overly clingy with affection, but I’m very tolerant of handling. You can check my ears, hold my paws, or fuss over me, and I’ll simply stand there and take it like a gentleman (with maybe a little shake-off at the end for style).Food is definitely the way to my heart. I already know “sit” and “down,” and since I’m so food-motivated, teaching me new things should be a fun and rewarding experience for both of us.When it comes to meeting new people, I’m polite but not pushy. I’ll say hello, take some treats, and then go about my business. Other dogs, though, are a bit more complicated for me. I prefer to be the only animal in my home but if I HAVE to have another furry sibling: I can come on strong and may need slow, thoughtful introductions to the right canine companion—if any. I’d do best with an experienced adopter who understands my signals and can help me navigate those interactions. Small animals and cats are a definite no for me—I will chase them.I’ve spent most of my life outdoors, so I’m looking for someone who can help me learn the ropes of indoor living, like housetraining and home manners. I’m a laid-back, independent kind of dog, but I do appreciate structure and guidance. I should also mention I’ve been known to test the limits of fencing, so a secure yard or careful supervision will be important. At the end of the day, I’m a mellow soul who enjoys a good walk, a bit of space, and a handful of treats. If you’re patient, active, and ready to help me settle into a new kind of life, I think we could make a pretty great team.
