Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy is a beautiful 7-year-old Husky with the perfect blend of sweetness, confidence, and charm. Friendly and easygoing, she loves meeting new people and greets everyone with a relaxed, happy attitude. Whether she`s joining in on the fun or simply hanging out by your side, Lucy is happiest when she`s spending time with her people. She is currently in a foster home with children and adores them. Lucy is currently thriving in a foster home with children and has proven to be a wonderful family companion. She can also do well with other dogs who appreciate her playful Husky personality. When she`s excited, Lucy can be a little mouthy and very vocal - true to her breed, she loves to `talk` and express herself! She`ll do best with confident, tolerant canine friends who understand her enthusiastic communication style. Lucy is not a good match for a home with cats, as her instinct to chase is simply too strong. Like many Huskies, Lucy needs regular exercise and mental enrichment to stay happy. She appears to experience some mild separation anxiety but this can be managed with some consistency and crating. Fortunately, she`s wonderful on leash, settles nicely after getting her energy out, and is fully house trained. Lucy is a loving, mature girl who will truly shine in a home that understands and embraces classic Husky traits. If you`re looking for a gorgeous, affectionate companion with plenty of personality - and don`t mind a few conversations along the way - Lucy could be the perfect addition to your family. Lucy is an Overlooked pet, which means she has been here for an extended period of time (longer than most of her friends) waiting for her forever home. For this reason, her adoption fee is up to you ($30 admin fee still applies)!

Story
Hello, darling. My name is Sakari, and I like to think of myself as a sophisticated lady... right up until I find something interesting to steal off the counter.I can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but give me a moment and you`ll quickly discover the affectionate, silly husky hiding underneath. Once you`re in my circle, I`m all about companionship, adventures, and finding creative ways to make you laugh. I have a medium-to-high energy lifestyle and absolutely adore getting out for walks, exploring the world, and taking in all the sights and smells. Life is simply more fun when there`s somewhere to go and someone to go with.I don`t mind the company of other dogs and can happily share space with them on walks or during playtime, but when it comes to living arrangements, I prefer to be the only four-legged resident. You see, I take certain treasures very seriously, and I`ll need an adopter who understands that some things are mine and who is committed to continuing positive training to help me make good choices. I have a history of being protective over special items, so I need a home with adults or older teens who can respect my boundaries and help set me up for success.I`m also clever. Perhaps a little too clever. If food is left unattended, I may consider it a gift. If a door has a handle, I may consider it a puzzle. Keeping one step ahead of me is all part of the Sakari experience.Underneath my mischievous streak is a truly loving dog who wants nothing more than to be cherished by her people. I`m sweet, loyal, full of personality, and ready to bring plenty of laughter, adventure, and husky commentary into the right home. If you`re looking for a beautiful girl with a big heart, a sharp mind, and just enough sass to keep life interesting, I think we might be perfect for each other.

Story
Meet Sumo!If you`re looking for a big, fluffy companion who enjoys the great outdoors, Sumo might be your perfect match. This handsome boy has spent most of his life living outside and is happiest when he has plenty of space to explore, patrol, and relax in the fresh air. Because of this, Sumo would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard, acreage, or a farm-type property where he can continue enjoying the outdoor lifestyle he loves.Sumo has been very friendly with staff and volunteers at the shelter and really seems to enjoy getting affection from humans. Luckily he also enjoys being brushed, which will help maintain his long fluffy coat. He also has a playful, goofy side and is sure to make you laugh! Sumo can walk nicely on leash at times, but is also an incredibly strong guy when he decides there is somewhere he wants to go. He appears to enjoy the company of other dogs, but he does have some resource-guarding tendencies around them. Any introductions to canine companions should be managed carefully, and feeding or high-value items should be kept separate. Because of his prey drive and background, Sumo is not suitable for a home with cats or other small animals.Sumo is searching for a home that understands and appreciates him for who he is—a loyal, independent dog who enjoys his space, loves being outdoors, and will make a wonderful companion for the right family. If you have room in your heart and your yard for a big fluffy friend, Sumo may be waiting for you.
