Story
Meet Koda! This handsome 5 year old husky is looking for a fresh start and a family to call his own. Koda came to the shelter in rough shape, but we won’t let his past define him. Every day, he continues to show us what a resilient and gentle soul he truly is.Koda can be shy and reserved when meeting new people. New situations and unfamiliar faces can make him a little unsure at first, but with patience, kindness, and a little encouragement, he has shown that he is capable of building trust and finding comfort in gentle affection. Once he begins to feel safe, you can see glimpses of the sweet dog hiding beneath his cautious exterior.Despite his shyness, Koda has been nothing but tolerant, calm, and docile during his time at the shelter. He appreciates having his boundaries respected and, like many Huskies, prefers affection to be on his own terms. He may not be the type of dog to immediately jump into your lap, but earning his trust is a rewarding experience. Also true to his breed, Koda loves to “talk” and always seems to have something to say, whether he’s greeting his favorite people or sharing his thoughts about the day.Koda is looking for a quiet, understanding home where he can decompress and learn that the world can be a safe and happy place. He has previously lived with a child, and older children who can respect his need for space and allow him to adjust at his own pace would likely be a good match. Koda has also lived with another dog and appears to be respectful and tolerant of other dogs here at the shelter. While he has not lived with cats before, slow and careful introductions may help him successfully adjust to a feline companion. One of Koda’s many strengths is that he is already house-trained and crate-trained, giving him a great foundation as he transitions into a new home. With consistency, patience, and positive reinforcement, we believe he has the potential to continue growing in confidence and become a wonderful companion. If you have a peaceful home, a gentle hand, and the patience to help a shy dog blossom, Koda could be the perfect fit. Watching a dog like Koda come out of his shell, learn to trust, and discover the joys of family life is an incredibly rewarding experience. He’s ready for his second chance - could it be with you?

Whether she`s sprinting across a field, chasing after a tennis ball, or exploring a new trail, Raven is always ready for her next adventure. This playful pup loves to run and play fetch, and she`ll happily keep you entertained with her enthusiasm and athleticism.
