Story
Bear is a charming, talkative dog who was brought in as a stray and, sadly, never reclaimed. Despite his rough start, Bear has shown himself to be a sweet, social companion who thrives on human interaction. He loves to "chat" with his people and is always ready for a dip in his kiddie pool – it's one of his favorite pastimes!
Bear is great with other dogs, good with cats and kids, and friendly with strangers. He loves greeting his humans when they come home and is happiest being around the people he loves. Bear is housebroken, though he may need a little refresher as he adjusts to a new home. He does well when left alone, settling in for a nap, and is also very good about being groomed.
Bear rides wonderfully in the car and enjoys walks, exploring, and spending time with his family. He walks nicely on leash and would make a great companion for someone looking for a loyal, affectionate buddy. Bear does have a bit of arthritis, but it is manageable and does not stop him from enjoying life.
Like many dogs, Bear has a few quirks that make him unique. He can be a little protective of his toys and may growl to communicate, but he has never snapped or shown aggression. With structure, consistency, and respect for his boundaries, he does well. He can also have a bit of selective hearing at times and may try to find a weak spot in a fence, though he has never attempted to jump one, so a secure yard will be important.
Bear does have seasonal allergies that can make his ears sensitive. Per the vet, he should be kept on Benadryl to help manage his symptoms.
He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention.
If you're looking for a loyal, expressive companion who loves people, enjoys car rides, water, and conversation, and has so much love to give, Bear might be your perfect match!
