At just 10–12 weeks old and about 9 lbs each, these two are still very much babies— curious, affectionate, playful, and utterly adorable. Their day usually starts around 7am with lots of wiggles, happy whines, and dramatic protests about having spent the night without a human nearby. After a potty break, it’s breakfast time. While kibble is available throughout the day, Skippy and Jif tend to eat on a puppy schedule: first thing in the morning, around noon, and again between 5–6pm. Once fueled up, they launch straight into playtime, both indoors and outside, romping hard for about an hour at a time. When playtime winds down, they make their way over to their foster’s lap, curling up together for cuddles. That’s the cue for another potty break before heading into their pen or crate for a nap. They usually sleep for 60–75 minutes before waking up ready to repeat the whole cycle again. By about 9pm, they crash for the night, with an optional late potty break around 10:30pm if dinner or water ran a little late. When Skippy and Jif play together, it’s full-on puppy chaos— in the best way. They are “mortal enemies” during play, complete with teeth, play growls, wrestling, high-speed chases, and the occasional body slam. But when squeaky toys come out, they instantly become allies, teaming up to defeat the common enemy through epic tug-of-war battles. They’re also just starting to learn the joys of fetch and will often bring the ball back… just so they can sprint off and get it again. Both puppies are affectionate, people-oriented, and classic velcro dogs. When given the chance to explore, they choose to stick close to their humans instead of wandering off. They love attention, reassurance, and are very vocal about their feelings—happy whines when someone new arrives, and brief complaints if left in the pen (which don’t last long). They are cuddly, loving, and thrive on connection. Training is just beginning and beef jerky is the currency of choice. They are learning to sit, slowly but enthusiastically, and would do just about anything for a tasty reward. They also get daily collar and leash time to explore the driveway, which is still a work in progress and not their favorite activity yet. Skippy and Jif use potty pads reliably at night. During the day, potty training is still inconsistent, which is completely normal for puppies their age. They haven’t shown much chewing, digging, or barking They have not been on walks yet but do well with kids ages 12 and 15 and tolerate all kinds of gentle handling. They have medium puppy energy— playful and active, but not nonstop go-go-go. As for what makes them special: Jif has a stocky little build, an adorably pudgy puppy belly, and deep dark eyes that completely draw you in. Skippy’s coat is a stunning rust-gold color that shimmers beautifully in the sunlight, and she has striking hazel eyes that are truly unique. Together, they are charming, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining. Skippy and Jif would each thrive in any loving home ready for puppy antics, cuddles, and fun. They are happy-go-lucky babies who just want to be someone’s (or some kids’) very best buddies. January 18, 2026, 4:31 pm
