August is a beautiful Shiba Inu very energetic and. He loves to run and play so having a gated yard would be preferable. He’s mostly quiet but you’ll know when it’s his time to play. Healthy dog overall never any issues. Looking for a good loving home for my boy.

Story
Meet Scout! He’s cute, he’s cuddly, and he thinks he’s part dingo. Just go with it... This happy 30-pound guy might not be a dingo (we checked), but he’s got the spirit of one—curious, playful, and ready to explore! At about a year old, Scout loves adventures and is the perfect size for hiking, couch snuggles, or tagging along on daily walks. Scout is still learning to fully trust people, so he’d do best in a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes. If you have a dog that's looking for a buddy to play with...Scout wants to be your dog's sidekick. The Robin to your Batman. He absolutely adores dogs of all sizes and lights up when he has a playmate. He’s also great with kids—his foster home includes two teens, and he’s been a total sweetheart with them. With a little patience (and a few treats), Scout warms up quickly and shows his loving, loyal side. Scout is housetrained, walks beautifully on leash, and is crate-trained (though he’ll politely tell you he prefers the bed). Smart, athletic, and affectionate, he’d thrive in almost any home with a dog buddy—from a cozy apartment to a house with a yard. Give Scout love and a chance, and he’ll be your best friend for life! Don't hesitate in submitting your application to be Scout's happily ever after. Scout is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. All dogs 6 month + receive a Proheart 6 injection at the time of their heartworm test. This provides heartworm prevention for 6 months from the time of that injection. The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested *** for heartworms. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Our once shy puppy girl Roxie has grown into a playful canine socialite!! Sharing adventures and new experiences with fellow dogs has enabled her to unleash her inner puppy!! Roxie can play all day with her dog pals.. trail blaze in a pack on long leashes.. nose to the ground and her curly little tail high and waggy! Once completely shut down and cowering in corners, "foxy Roxie" now chases balls.. and often returns them except in the event she gets side tracked by the sight of a whirring ball tossed for another dog .. and off she goes to join the chase! One of her favorite games involves the hose.. on any setting! Roxie bites and snaps the out pouring water no matter what setting its on jet, shower or mist! She also kinda plays jump rope and repeatedly runs into the water spray full on.. getting drenched and loving's every moment!! Roxie has a number of unique and highly entertaining moves in her play style .. she actually bounces.. kangaroo style.. also literally leaps over her mates .. even those quite a bit taller than she is.. Roxie like a lot of dogs is really into rolling and somehow manages to roll in tandem with her pals .. almost as if merged into one dog! She's got great play etiquette.. smoothly moves from running chase games to prone mouth wrestling.. to sharing a drink at the water bucket and then lounging comfortably for a rest before it all starts again! Story
Ari is a 4.5-year-old Shiba Inu with a playful heart and a lot of love to give. He came to us in July 2023 as an owner surrender and has been making great progress. He enjoys walks, loves playing with toys, and already knows sit and down. Ari can be a bit wary of new people and surroundings, so he’ll need a patient home willing to continue his training and build his confidence. With time, consistency, and multiple meet-and-greets, Ari is sure to become a loyal, devoted companion who will steal your heart! If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220Wantagh Long Island, New York#Adoptme #adoptionistheoption #takemehome #adoption #rescue #rescueismyfavoritebreed #opttoadopt

Story
Meet Dongree   Breed: Shiba mix Age: 4 years old Sex: Spayed female Colour: Brown Weight: 14kg Height (to shoulder): 45cm   Rescue Story   Donggree was rescued from a city shelter’s euthanasia list and has been waiting patiently ever since for a family of her own.   She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built.   Personality & Socialization   Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you.   She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship.   Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet.   Energy Level & Behavior   Donggree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor walks and activities but settles calmly afterward. She walks well overall, though she may pull on the leash occasionally. Once the leash is on, she follows nicely and enjoys the walk.   She doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs and behaves quietly in her kennel. She feels anxious about car rides, so she prefers to be held during transport.   She’s comfortable using both pee pads indoors and pottying outdoors, which makes her adaptable to different home environments.   A Loyal and Independent Spirit   Donggree is a bright, affectionate girl with that unmistakable Shiba charm — loyal, clean, and quietly confident. She may be cautious at first, but with patience and consistency, she opens up to reveal a loving heart.   Once she trusts you, she’ll become your faithful shadow, following you with her signature calm energy and gentle eyes.   Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to build trust. A home that appreciates the independent but affectionate nature of Shiba mixes would be perfect for her.   Donggree may take a little time to trust, but once she does, she’ll stay by your side for life — loyal, loving, and full of quiet strength. Apply to foster or adopt to show her how beautiful the world can be. www.adoptmekr.org Please also visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
Meet Ttre Age: 5 years Sex: Spayed Female Breed: Shiba Jindo Mix Color: White Weight: 19 kg Height: 54 cm (shoulder height)   Rescue Story In September 2021, a report was made that young puppies were being physically abused by their owner. The puppies were rescued and transferred to a local shelter, but they later faced imminent euthanasia. A private rescuer stepped in and saved them.   Since then, the rescuer shared Ttre’s adoption profile with multiple organizations, yet not a single adoption inquiry came through. Ttre is currently being fostered by a local professional trainer, where she has been living in a stable and structured environment.   Human Social Skills   Ttre is an exceptionally affectionate dog who loves people. She happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, rubbing against them and allowing easy handling. With treats, she often showers people with kisses.   She has no preference between men or women and is gentle and affectionate even with children under 13. She can be comfortably lifted by placing an arm under her belly, and when she’s feeling relaxed and happy, she will even show her belly to people she’s just met.   Dog Social Skills When meeting unfamiliar dogs, Ttre will approach to sniff but does not immediately initiate play. She enjoys playing and goofing around with dogs she feels comfortable with, but in general, she is far more people-oriented than dog-oriented.   She does not like overly high-energy or provocative dogs well. While she isn’t aggressive (mostly just vocal), she also doesn’t quietly endure uncomfortable situations. She carries some classic Shiba-like personality traits.   Cats During walks, she may look at cats with curiosity, but she follows human guidance well and redirects easily. Cat testing is available upon request.   Energy Level Moderate energy. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, but once her exercise needs are met, she settles down calmly and rests well indoors.   Walks Ttre has plenty of leash experience and generally walks nicely without pulling, staying attentive to her handler. She can be a bit distractible at times and may show mild stubbornness if she has a preferred direction—true to her breed mix.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding (with people or dogs) • Rarely barks • Calm and cooperative in a kennel • Gets in and out of the car on her own • Primarily does her business outdoors   Ttre is a dog who has waited quietly for far too long—not because she isn’t wonderful, but because she was overlooked. She would thrive in a home that appreciates her people-focused nature, respects her boundaries with other dogs, and offers her the companionship she has always been ready to give.   If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and emotionally mature companion, Ttre may be the one you’ve been waiting for.
