She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built. Personality & Socialization Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you. She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship. Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet. Cat test has been done and did well! Energy Level & Behavior Donggree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor walks and activities but settles calmly afterward. She walks well overall, though she may pull on the leash occasionally. Once the leash is on, she follows nicely and enjoys the walk. She doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs and behaves quietly in her kennel. She feels anxious about car rides, so she prefers to be held during transport. She’s comfortable using both pee pads indoors and pottying outdoors, which makes her adaptable to different home environments. DONGREE Name: Dongree Age: 4 years old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Jindo/Shiba Mix Color: Brown Weight: 15 kg (33 lbs) Rescue Story Dongree was rescued from a municipal shelter in Korea and is now getting the chance to show everyone what a lovely girl she is in a home environment. ‍‍ With People Dongree is a people-loving girl who is friendly and affectionate. She enjoys attention, loves showing affection, and always seems to have a smile on her face. She is comfortable being picked up and has also done well around children under 13. Her foster says that after arriving at the foster home, Dongree was comfortable going for walks right away and approached people without hesitation. She has been gentle in the home with no growling or barking. At Home & Home Alone Dongree is surprisingly calm and easygoing indoors. With enough walks and outdoor activity, she is happy to spend her time at home relaxing and sleeping. When left home alone, she is comfortable settling in her kennel. Her foster is rarely away for long periods, but Dongree has been left alone for up to about 4 hours and has done well. She has shown no separation anxiety, excessive barking, or destructive behavior toward household belongings. She may occasionally decide that a pee pad is a great thing to shred, though. Her updated foster assessment also describes her as gentle, quiet, and comfortable in a kennel. Potty Dongree prefers to potty outdoors. During her first week in foster care, she occasionally urinated on pee pads, but once she settled into a regular walking routine, she mostly stopped using them. If she really needs to go, however, she may still use a pee pad indoors. With Other Dogs Dongree can do well with other dogs when they approach her calmly and respectfully. She can be uncomfortable around larger dogs and dogs with very high energy. If another dog challenges or provokes her, she may stand her ground rather than simply backing away, so thoughtful introductions are important. With Cats Dongree’s reactions to cats have varied. During one brief indoor cat test, she was calm and mostly uninterested. In another setting, she showed more interest and wanted to approach the cat, and outdoors she may try to chase. Because of this, we would not consider her fully cat-tested or reliably cat-friendly, and any home with a cat would need careful management and very slow introductions. Walks & Energy Dongree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys being outdoors but settles nicely after getting enough activity. At the beginning of a walk she can pull quite strongly, and once she settles in she tends to focus on sniffing, so her walks can involve plenty of stopping and exploring. Dongree is still nervous about getting into the car and may need to be picked up and helped inside. Dongree is affectionate and fun outside, but gentle, quiet and relaxed at home. 🌟 Meet Mr. Bi: The Sassy, Sweet, Wheelchair-Wielding Wonder! 🌟 Hey, world! I’m Mr. Bi (that’s bee—not bi, don’t get any funny ideas!). I’m a 5-year-old paralyzed pup originally from Vietnam. My life started in a bit of a pickle, but I’m here to tell you that I’m one resilient, sassy dog who doesn’t know the meaning of “giving up.” 👑 Let’s talk about my journey: I was hit by a car in Vietnam, then sent to the U.S. for treatment. Sadly, the person I was sent to decided to leave me in a dark, rat-infested basement. 🐀 They called themselves a rescuer, but I call it “the worst AirBnB ever.” It was rough—super rough—and for months, I was locked in a crate and left to suffer. But hey, it only made me stronger. 💪 Fast forward to August 31, 2021—cue dramatic rescue music. With some strategic planning (and a whole lot of sass), I was finally freed from that nightmare. I had lost muscle tone, had some rat bites, and I was really thin—like, "please feed me, I look like a skeleton" thin. But now? Now I’m thriving. I’ve gained 9 pounds, built up my strength, and I’m showing off my wheelchair like it’s my personal limo. 🛺 So, what’s life like with me? I’m a paralyzed dog, yes, but I’m far from helpless. I LOVE to swim to build my strength (no big deal, I’m basically a doggie Olympian). I go for walks in my wheelchair, and let me tell you, I look fabulous doing it. I love being brushed, and I’ll take all the cuddles you’ve got. ❤️ BUT, here’s the fun part: I’m also a little mischief-maker. I’ve got a thing for sweatpants—don’t wear them around me unless you’re okay with me trying to pull them down. It’s hilarious, and I think you’ll agree once you see it. 😜 Despite everything, I’ve got a big, bold personality and a zest for life. I love people, kids, dogs, and cats (even though I’m not shy about letting you know what I want). I’ve been through a lot, but I’m finally ready for my forever home. 🏡💕 I flew all the way here for a better life—NOT to die. And trust me, I’m not just surviving—I’m living my best life.
