Story
Application required-can be found at almosthomedogs.org. Sweet Yuki is a young (3ish) year old neutered Shiba Inu. After being dumped down in Texas, he was rescued by Almost Home Dog Rescue and brought up to Maryland to find his forever home. He is settling into his foster home and is so smart. He has already figured out the whole leash walking and absolutely loves going on walks. Other dogs that love to run around and do zoomies/chase him in the backyard are his favorite. His ideal home would be with a moderately active family (kids included) and at least one other playful dog with a fenced in backyard for his zoomies. Cats are not in his interest as he thinks everyone is there to play. He loves being loved on and will reward you with sweet kisses. It is the cutest thing to see him curl up in the bed at night and watch the television with you. He is relatively quiet but will bark/whine in the crate if he can see you or if he needs to go out. Otherwise he settles right down and sleeps. The best part is he is fully potty trained. He is an amazing little dog that deserves to finally have a home where he can settle down and be part of a real family. 30 pound 3-4 yr old male (neutered). UTD on vaccines, microchipped and heartworm tested. No known health issues. Really needs a fenced in yard as he likes to zoom and will chase anything with no regard for the humans trying to lure him back. Great with other dogs. Loves to play chase. Please note-this breed is not for the first time dog owner. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org. Adoption Fee is $450. All of our dogs will be microchipped. We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment.

Story
Meet Hiro Meet Hiro, a truly lovable 3-year-old, 22 lbs Shiba Inu. His charisma is impossible to resist for dogs and humans alike making him the perfect compact companion – bright eyed, and full of heart. Hiro greets everyone he meets with enthusiasm, making friends in every situation. He’s wonderfully warm, ready to make new friends or charm a room with his gentle, affectionate nature. Hiro is a sensitive soul who forms deep bonds with his people very quickly. He thrives on companionship and wants nothing more than to curl up beside you at night. Because he feels safest when his humans are close, Hiro does best in a home where people are often around or in a dog-friendly environment. He’s comfortable in a crate for short periods of time but prefers to be close to his humans. Playful, curious, and spirited, Hiro will shine in a home ready to keep him active, engaged, and surrounded with love. If your looking for a loyal companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Hiro is ready to be your devoted shadow and lifelong friend. Please note-this breed is not for the first time dog owner. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tank is bonded with Rusty, 10yo, weighs 50-60lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Tank has free roam of the house during the day and sleeps on the couch or on his bed at night.  There are no issues with Tank during car rides.  He does, however, dislike/fear thunder/loud noises. Tank's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  Tank's current guardian is fostering him and Rusty and has been since she rescued them from an untenable living situation in December 2023.  Since their foster provider/guardian already has 2 dogs of her own, she must rehomed them, preferably together. Tank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Tank lives with children, ages birth to 7yo, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Similar to Rusty, he likes to be petted but will typically the just relax/find his own spot". Tank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tank lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "While on walks, he's not too interested in other dogs.  If living in a house with other dogs, I would recommend calm dogs.  I have two small/more active dogs, and Tank doesn't like when they play". Tank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tank hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Tank's guardian describes him as: Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Tank's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Tank gets very excited to go outside, so I would love for him to have a fenced in yard in his forever home.  I would also really like to place Tank and Rusty together.  Tank gets a little anxious/nervous (it took about 3-4 weeks for him to get settled in my home), so a calmer home would be ideal. I would also love to keep in touch/could be a dog-sitter if/when needed." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Gambrills, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. Story
hi Zion, this handsome boy is 7 1/2 year old Shiba inu. He was surrendered to us from a commercial breeder, with several other dogs, when they were no longer wanted for breeding. He is 24 lbs. Zion is a great boy! He is a true representative of his breed - she is smart, independent and curious. When in the playground, he loves exploring his surroundings. He has been great with us with all his handling. He would need to meet any resident dogs. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and 4dx tested. He also had a dental. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out an adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com His adoption fee is $475.
