Story
I have had Comey since 9/2017 and unfortunately my 6 year old was tested after me seeing he has this “allergy cough” that I started to suspect was asthma. It turns out he’s severely allergic to Comey. Comey does not bark, is very clean, and it’s comfortable being alone and also being a lap dog. He does not have separation anxiety or food aggression and he’s been around my 4 and 6 year old without incident. Although because of his skittish nature I would not allow him to interact with the children unsupervised. He’s a happy playful smart dog that knows how do to plenty of tricks. He’s very adaptable enjoying play and lounging around the house equally.

Story
PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing or "inquiring" is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Sweet Yuki is a young (3ish) year old neutered Shiba Inu about 30 pounds. "Yuki" means happiness, good fortune or lucky. Bred for hunting in the Japanese mountains, he is so smart. Absolutely loves going on walks and other dogs. Other dogs that love to run around and do zoomies/chase him in the backyard are his favorite. His ideal home would be with a moderately active family (kids included) and at least one other playful dog with a fenced in backyard for his zoomies and chase. He loves being loved on and will reward you with sweet kisses. It is the cutest thing to see him curl up in the bed at night and watch the television with you. He is relatively quiet but will bark/whine in the crate if he can see you or if he needs to go out. Otherwise he settles right down and sleeps. The best part is he is fully potty trained. He is an amazing little dog that deserves to finally have a home where he can settle down and be part of a real family. The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm test if age appropriate and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Tank is bonded with Rusty, 10yo, weighs 50-60lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Tank has free roam of the house during the day and sleeps on the couch or on his bed at night.  There are no issues with Tank during car rides.  He does, however, dislike/fear thunder/loud noises. Tank's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:  Tank's current guardian is fostering him and Rusty and has been since she rescued them from an untenable living situation in December 2023.  Since their foster provider/guardian already has 2 dogs of her own, she must rehomed them, preferably together. Tank's guardian states the following regarding children:  Tank lives with children, ages birth to 7yo, so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating "Similar to Rusty, he likes to be petted but will typically the just relax/find his own spot". Tank's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Tank lives with dogs, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "While on walks, he's not too interested in other dogs.  If living in a house with other dogs, I would recommend calm dogs.  I have two small/more active dogs, and Tank doesn't like when they play". Tank's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Tank hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Tank's guardian describes him as: Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Independent Protective Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Likes men Likes women Tank's guardian describes his ideal future home:   "Tank gets very excited to go outside, so I would love for him to have a fenced in yard in his forever home.  I would also really like to place Tank and Rusty together.  Tank gets a little anxious/nervous (it took about 3-4 weeks for him to get settled in my home), so a calmer home would be ideal. I would also love to keep in touch/could be a dog-sitter if/when needed." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Gambrills, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
