Story
Meet Dongree   Breed: Shiba mix Age: 4 years old Sex: Spayed female Colour: Brown Weight: 14kg Height (to shoulder): 45cm   Rescue Story   Donggree was rescued from a city shelter’s euthanasia list and has been waiting patiently ever since for a family of her own.   She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built.   Personality & Socialization   Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you.   She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship.   Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet.   Energy Level & Behavior   Donggree has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor walks and activities but settles calmly afterward. She walks well overall, though she may pull on the leash occasionally. Once the leash is on, she follows nicely and enjoys the walk.   She doesn’t guard food from people or other dogs and behaves quietly in her kennel. She feels anxious about car rides, so she prefers to be held during transport.   She’s comfortable using both pee pads indoors and pottying outdoors, which makes her adaptable to different home environments.   A Loyal and Independent Spirit   Donggree is a bright, affectionate girl with that unmistakable Shiba charm — loyal, clean, and quietly confident. She may be cautious at first, but with patience and consistency, she opens up to reveal a loving heart.   Once she trusts you, she’ll become your faithful shadow, following you with her signature calm energy and gentle eyes.   Ideal Home: A patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to build trust. A home that appreciates the independent but affectionate nature of Shiba mixes would be perfect for her.   Donggree may take a little time to trust, but once she does, she’ll stay by your side for life — loyal, loving, and full of quiet strength. Story
Meet Danbi — Looking for Her Forever Family!   Name: Danbi Age: 3 years Sex: Spayed Female Spayed: Yes Breed: Shiba–Jindo Mix Color: Brown Weight: 13kg Height (shoulder): 41cm   Rescue Story   Danbi entered a city shelter with her four newborn puppies. Sadly, all her puppies passed away there, and she was rescued on June 15, 2023. She has since spent 2.5 years living safely at the shelter and is now finally ready for a loving home of her own.   ‍‍ Socialization with People   Danbi is affectionate and friendly — she approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people on her own, leans in for pets, and enjoys being touched. She likes both women and men.   She hasn’t met children under 13, but based on her calm, gentle nature, we expect she will do well with them. She can be picked up with arms under her belly, and once she bonds with you, she’ll even show her tummy for belly rubs.   Socialization with Dogs   Danbi absolutely loves other dogs. She greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs politely and invites them to play. Her dog social skills are excellent — even when another dog jumps on her or plays a bit too rough, she never reacts negatively.   She especially enjoys dogs around her size and thrives with friendly, playful companions.   Cats   She shows curiosity when she sees cats on walks but will follow her handler’s lead without pulling or lunging. A cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level   Danbi has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities but settles calmly afterward. Inside the home, she is relaxed and easygoing.   ‍ Walking Manners   Danbi loves sniffing, so her pace is “walk–stop–sniff–walk.” She walks well in quiet areas but becomes slightly hesitant in heavy traffic. If she gets scared, she does not bolt — instead, she stays close to her handler and walks slowly beside them.   Other Behaviors • No food guarding toward people or dogs • Not vocal — rarely barks • No separation anxiety • Calm in the crate • Prefers doing her potty outdoors   If you think sweet Danbi could be the perfect addition to your family, please submit an application through our website Apply to foster or adopt to show him how beautiful the world can be. www.adoptmekr.org Please visit our Facebook or Instagram. Story
🧡 Hi, I'm Milo 🧡 Age: 1 year Breed: Jindo-Shiba Mix Sex: Male Weight: 8kg (just under 18 lbs) I may be fully grown, but I’m a little guy with a big heart—and I’m ready to fill your home with love, one pawstep at a time. People say I look like a little teddy bear, with my soft brown fur and round eyes that are always full of curiosity. I’m small, sweet, and full of quiet charm. You might never guess it from my gentle looks, but I’ve already been through a lot in my short life. I was once on a euthanasia list… but I was saved just in time. Since then, I’ve only known shelter life. A real home? I’ve never had one. But I’m hoping that’s about to change—with you. Because I’ve never lived in a house, I haven’t learned all the rules yet—especially when it comes to potty training. I’m not used to going inside or outside properly, so I’ll need your help learning a routine from scratch. If you gently guide me to the same spot after meals, naps, and playtime—and reward me with yummy treats when I get it right—I’ll catch on quickly. If I make mistakes, please don’t scold me. Just quietly clean up and help me try again. I really want to learn! At first, I might be a little unsure around new people. I don’t trust easily, but not because I don’t want to—it’s just that I’ve never really known what it means to feel safe. That said, I’m very curious, and I love food (especially treats from your hand!). Give me a bit of time, and you’ll see me coming over on my own, asking for pets and showing you my soft, cuddly side. Sometimes sudden movements or unfamiliar touches might startle me, so it’s best to approach slowly at first—low posture, calm energy, and of course… snacks! With your patience and kindness, I’ll learn that hands mean love, not fear. When it’s time for walks, I do best with a chest harness and a backup leash for safety—two points of security, just in case. Quiet streets are my favorite for now. With gentle exposure and encouragement, I’ll slowly grow more confident exploring the world by your side. I know I’m not perfect. I still have so much to learn. But now is the perfect time to teach me. I’m young, open-hearted, and so eager to bond. With love, patience, and a calm guiding hand, I’ll grow into a polite, loyal companion who brings joy to your everyday life. I’ve lived my life behind shelter walls—but I’m ready to trade that for warm beds, gentle walks, and a forever family to call my own. Could that family be you? With hope in my eyes and love in my little heart, Milo 🐾

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Siho Age: 3 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Shiba Color: Beige Weight: 13kg / 28.6lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I’m not sure how I ended up abandoned at the city pound, suddenly on my own and trying my best to cope. Because the shelter was overcrowded, I was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully I was rescued just in time, and now I’m ready to find a forever family who will love and protect me.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi! I’m Siho. I’m an adorable little guy with all the classic shiba charm—from my fox-like looks to my expressive personality. I’m super social with people and enjoy hanging out with my dog friends too. Like a true shiba, I’m very clear about what I want, I occasionally let out my iconic “shiba screams,” and I flash my cute squinty shiba smile whenever I’m happy. I’m full of character in the best way!   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m very friendly with people and love soaking up attention. I’ll even roll over for belly rubs right away—complete with my signature shiba smile. You can pick me up, too! I haven’t had much experience around kids yet, but with my sweet nature, I could do well with slow, mindful introductions and dog-savvy children. I can get a bit mouthy when I play (classic young shiba energy!), so I’ll need some basic obedience training to help me learn good manners and manage my excitement. · With Dogs: I’m social with my dog friends too! I love greeting new dogs and jumping into play, especially with pups around my own size. I’m still learning proper doggy manners though—I can be a little pushy at times (e.g. mounting), and I don’t always pick up on social cues right away. If another dog corrects me, I let out a dramatic shiba scream and act like the world is ending. I stay true to the dramatic shiba side. But underneath my goofy side, I truly want to make friends. With continued guidance, structure, and thoughtful introductions, I’ll keep growing into a well-mannered and confident playmate. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown, so I’m not sure how I’d behave just yet. A cat test can be arranged upon request to help find the best match!   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a high energy level. I need lots of outdoor time and exhaust my energy before settling nicely indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull a bit, but overall I walk well on leash. I don’t guard my food against people or other dogs. I may bark for attention and can bark at strangers at first, but I settle with time and guidance. I’m still learning to relax in my kennel and might whine in the beginning. I potty both indoors (on a pee pad) and outdoors, and I may mark when I’m in a new environment until I feel fully settled.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself, and a stable environment. A family that understands my rough past and is patient with me throughout. A family that enjoys outdoor & indoor time together. A family that will love and cherish me forever. Ideally, a family experienced with Shibas or primitive breeds who understands my typical Shiba traits and can continue my basic training.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a classic Shiba through and through—adorable, expressive, and full of personality! I can be a little dramatic, a little opinionated, and very clear about what I want, so I’ll thrive with a family who understands Shiba quirks and can guide me with patience and consistency. I’m still learning manners like calmer greetings, managing my excitement, and reading dog social cues, but I’m eager to learn with the right guidance. With a confident, Shiba-savvy family by my side, I know I’ll blossom into the funniest, most loving companion.   Siho's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2589530##
