She may take a few days to open up — usually between 3 days to a week — but once she feels safe, her loving and playful personality shines through. She’s affectionate with familiar people and allows gentle handling or even being lifted once trust is built. Personality & Socialization Donggree has the classic Shiba mix personality — a little cautious at first, independent, yet deeply loyal once she bonds with you. She gets along well with most dogs, both larger and smaller, but can react if another dog challenges her. For this reason, careful introductions with new dogs are recommended. With friendly dogs, however, she loves to play and enjoys companionship. Her reaction to cats hasn’t been observed yet. Energy Level & Behavior Donggree has a moderate energy level. Sadly, all her puppies passed away there, and she was rescued on June 15, 2023. She has since spent 2.5 years living safely at the shelter and is now finally ready for a loving home of her own. ‍‍ Socialization with People Danbi is affectionate and friendly — she approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people on her own, leans in for pets, and enjoys being touched. She likes both women and men. She hasn’t met children under 13, but based on her calm, gentle nature, we expect she will do well with them. People say I look like a little teddy bear, with my soft brown fur and round eyes that are always full of curiosity. I’m small, sweet, and full of quiet charm. You might never guess it from my gentle looks, but I’ve already been through a lot in my short life. I was once on a euthanasia list… but I was saved just in time. Since then, I’ve only known shelter life. A real home? I’ve never had one. But I’m hoping that’s about to change—with you. Because I’ve never lived in a house, I haven’t learned all the rules yet—especially when it comes to potty training. I’m not used to going inside or outside properly, so I’ll need your help learning a routine from scratch. If you gently guide me to the same spot after meals, naps, and playtime—and reward me with yummy treats when I get it right—I’ll catch on quickly. If I make mistakes, please don’t scold me. Just quietly clean up and help me try again. I really want to learn! At first, I might be a little unsure around new people. Like a true shiba, I’m very clear about what I want, I occasionally let out my iconic “shiba screams,” and I flash my cute squinty shiba smile whenever I’m happy. I’m full of character in the best way! MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m very friendly with people and love soaking up attention. Currently in a toronto foster home 🐾 Hi there, I'm Yenny! 🐾 Breed: Jindo-Shiba Mix Sex: Female Weight: ~15kg (about 33 lbs) I may have had a rough start in life, but I'm ready to turn the page and begin a brand new chapter—with you. I grew up in a shelter and spent most of my early life behind bars. It was a lonely and uncertain time, and I even found myself on the euthanasia list. But just when things seemed darkest, I was rescued and given a second chance. These days, I’m living at a training center where the kind humans are helping me discover how good life can really be. Despite my past, I’m a bright, happy girl with a heart full of love. I’m not shy at all—I love meeting people, playing, and sharing joyful moments. I also get along great with other dogs, so if you have a pup already, I’d probably love to be their friend! At first, I might seem a little unsure how to approach you—I didn’t get a lot of chances to interact with people growing up. But once I feel your kind touch, I warm up quickly. You’ll see me wagging my tail, leaning in for more pets, and showing you all my cute, cuddly sides. Treats? Yes, please! I’m very food-motivated, which means training me is easier (and more fun!). I’m still getting the hang of outdoor potty habits, but with a little routine and patience—like guiding me to a regular spot after meals or walks—I’ll catch on quickly. I’m a smart cookie, I promise!
