Story
Kramer is a distinguished senior gentleman, 13 years young. We think he may be a mix of Shiba Inu and Chihuahua, but that's just our best guess. He was living a perfectly happy and content life until his people became too ill to care for him. Humane Tomorrow promised to find him another forever home. He has settled into the routine at his foster home very well. Kramer loves his meal time, treats, nap time, car rides, snuggling, and evening walks. He is house and crate trained. He gets along with the cats in his foster home, but he mostly stays out of their way. Kramer would be an excellent only dog, but he may do fine with an older, laid back dog. He likes to snuggle on his own terms, but he not like to be picked up or held. Kramer qualifies for our senior discount fee, so please submit your application, and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Story
Haku is a male dog born on May 3, 2025. I adopted him as a puppy, and he’s grown into a very affectionate and social companion. He has a playful personality and loves spending time with people and other dogs. Haku gets excited when meeting new dogs, but always stays friendly and enjoys playing with them. He’s also smart and eager to learn — with consistent training, he picks up new commands very quickly. I’m looking for a loving, active home where Haku can continue to get daily interaction, playtime, and care. If I were to describe him in a few words: friendly, curious, playful, smart, and loving.

Jinjer was rescued from a house where she was kept outside and completely neglected. By the time animal control got to her, she nearly lost her life due to FLEAS! Despite her rough start to life, she was still the sweetest girl to everyone. Now she is full of energy, loves her toys and loves to play with anyone and any dog!

Story
Meet Koi — Your Next Adventure Buddy 🐾✨ Koi is a 2-year-old, 40-pound Shiba Inu mix full of curiosity. Equal parts sweet and sassy, she’s the kind of girl who’ll snuggle up for a movie night one day and easily strike out on an independent backyard patrol the next. 🚗 Car rides? Yes, please. 🧠 Smart? Absolutely. 🎯 Stubborn? Occasionally. 💅 Nail trims? No big deal. 🦴 Benebones? Her love language. Koi gets along great with other dogs and kids, and her expressive face is so charming. She’s a “smartypants” with a mind of her own, so an experienced adopter who appreciates her Shiba-style independence will be her perfect match. 💞 If you’re ready for a loyal companion who’s as adorable as she is clever, Koi’s waiting to meet you. Apply today and let the adventures begin! ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our pets based on personality, not breed label. Shep is a 5-year-old, neutered male, perhaps Basenji-Husky mix. He is up to date on all of his vaccinations and Microchipped. Shep is most definitely not a Ridgeback. He has lived with Ridgebacks and is tolerant of their weirdness (at least weird to him). His bright blue eyes reflect a keen intelligence and a dash of mischief. Very high energy, strong curiosity and intense personality make for a dog that will never allow a dull moment in your life. Once he gets to know you, Shep is a very loving dog who is always ready for an ear scratch or belly rub. He can be overly protective of those people he considers his, especially when they are his source of treats and affection. Shep is quick to speak out in defense of his territory and all that he considers his. He needs an environment that provides structure and enforces limits on his enthusiasm without suppressing his spirit. If you like a challenge and a one-of-a-kind dog that will fill the time you give him with amusement, wonder and enrichment, as few other dogs could, then Shep is the dog for you. If you like to foster Shep or adopt him and provide a Forever Home for Shep, call or text Roy at 817-454-6023 or Miguel at 817-798-8416.
