Story
Loki is a Sheba/ Chi breed. He is 15 lbs and about 6 years old.. Very friendly and quiet. He does not bark very at all. He really doesn’t even like to play with dog toys. He does love a good soft blanket and loves to snuggle with someone! He would do well with anyone that could give him attention and take him on walks. He is neutered and up to date on all his shots. He is super loving and ok with other dogs too.   Loki is housebroken.   He was originally pee pad trained, but he is also house broken.   Yes, he is crate trained.  I currently have a crate for him in my home and I use it. Yes, he is an excellent car rider!   He will lay down on the seat and not move until the car stops.  He not one of those dogs that likes to wander around the car.  He's very still when he rides. Does he do well with kids?  I really cannot answer this question.  My son is 17 years old and I don't have any smaller children. I believe he would be fine.  I will say this...he does feel threatened by larger dogs and prefers to either be the only dog in the house or have other dogs around him that are the same size.  I did have another dog around him he absolutely loved.  Boyfriend/Girlfiend kind of thing, same size. I can tell you a little bit about his 'past life' from what I've been told.  He was in a home where he belong to a younger adult (late teens/early 20's).  This younger adult was not very kind to Loki and neglected him at times.  What that "neglect" entailed, I do not know.  Loki IS scared of men until he gets to know you.  Then he's ok.  He also does not like loud noises at all. I have had him a little under a year now.  He is pretty loyal and will sit right by your side. He loves attention and will sit in your lap and snuggle with you.  He is a very expressionless dog.  He doesn't really wag his tail much or smile, but he will snuggle up a storm with you.  I always say, he's always got just a blank look on his face.  Sometimes I laugh because he looks like he's gonna cry.  He'll give you the sad puppy eyes. .  Loki had a bath and nail grind last week on Tuesday at Petsmart.  I take him on a regular basis.  His hair does not really get long enough to cut.  He's got that kind of fur that stay pretty short.   Ohh and Loki is 8 years old. ##1975046##

Story
Hey there, I`m Mermaid Man, your friendly neighborhood superhero dog. My tale isn`t one of sorrow but of bravery. I once lived a peaceful life, but destiny had other plans. One day, an evil villain named Dr. Litterbug started polluting our town. I couldn`t stand by, so I used my powers of persuasion and love to rally my fellow canines. We chased him out of town, but in the process, I lost my way home and ended up here. I`m leash trained, potty trained, and neutered. I`m just as sweet and friendly as they come. My superpower is love, and I`m ready to shower it on a family who`ll adopt me. Will you be my superhero?

Story
It is so hard to believe Jinsook has not been swooped up for adoption! She is now one of our Diamond Dogs, which are the pets we highlight as the Diamond in the Ruff seeking their forever home. Her adoption fee has been reduced to $125. Jinsook (aka Jinny) is a 43 lbs. and 13 years old. She was surrendered to a shelter by her owner. She's now living the good life in foster care while she waits for her new family. Jinny is living with 3 big dogs (male and female) and gets along well with all of them.  Don't let her age fool you; Jinny has some pep in her step and is still quite playful! She enjoys her morning walks, with or without other doggies, and is good on the leash. Jinny is a sweet, affectionate lady who enjoys being petted. She is house and crate trained and has free run of the house when her foster mom is away from home. She does not get on the furniture (although she is allowed to do so and is capable of jumping on the couch).  Jinny would do best in a home without small children or cats. She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on heartworm prevention. You can apply to meet/adopt her here: https://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME!   Pretty Peppy PIXIE Pixie is a 4-5 month old Basenji mix who we think is mixed with Sheltie; she looks like many photos we found of the hybrid “BaShelties” when people pointed this out to us. But whatever mix she is Pixie is a petite 18 lb lovergirl with a heart-shaped mark on her forehead that perfectly matches how loving of a dog she is. Pixie does not know a stranger and just wants love and attention. Pixie has the typical energy level for her breed. She enjoys walks which definitely help release some of her puppy energy and she does well on a leash. Some days she will still want to play after a walk - she would be a great companion for a larger young male dog. Pixie loves to be petted, going on walks, playing catch, giving kisses, and she knows basic commands like sit and paw. I also have gotten her to spin a few times as well, so she is a quick learner. She is eager to please and we are confident that anyone that meets her will instantly love her. Pixie does not know a stranger and just wants love and attention. To know her is to love her; the family who found her wishes they had the lifestyle that would be good for her and they are very sad not to be able to keep her. When Pixie was found running stray she jumped right into the arms of her temporary family and thanked them with kisses. Their teacup-breed older dogs aren’t friendly to Pixie but she has such a sweet disposition she just ignores them or walks away, she never growls or shows any kind of aggression towards them. Pixie is NOT afraid of thunderstorms and doesn’t even mind going outside in the yard during the rain - even to play. Loud noises do not bother her; she even seemed to enjoy getting a bath! An ideal home for her would owners that are active and have time to tire her out. She will love walks, hiking, or visits to parks to play fetch. We hope to find a canine companion for her since she really loves being with other playful dogs. As always we want a home for puppies where there is time to dedicate to training, affection, exercise and love. The family who has been fostering her hasn’t used a crate but she does go outside to go potty. We would still recommend crate-training for her safety and want owners who will be patient during her transition to her new home.
