Bessie is a pretty and sweet young pup. She is a 1 1/2 year-old, 17 pound, white, Poodle/Terrier mix. She came to AFC with her mother MoAna and a sister. Bessie came with two, one week old puppies who are now old enough to be adopted. The family had to many dogs to care for. She is potty trained and knows how to use a doggy door. She loves to explore outside and like most young dogs can get into a little mischief, if not watched by her humans. She loves to run around and get her energy out then come cuddle on her foster mom's lap. She is very sweet and gives kisses.. She will require regular brushing at home with an occasional trip to the groomer. She is scheduled to be spayed but we are looking for her home now. Boy oh boy did we take a BIG LEAP! We took 7 boy dogs from Stanislaus County Animal Services. They are part of 87 dogs seized from a hoarding case. These boys have spent their lives in filth and darkness. Many were living under the floor board. Most had to be shaved due to heavy matting. How most of these boys can be so sweet and loving has us STUMPED! They are a little shy but once they get to know you, they beg for love and attention. They will need a little patience as they learn to live the life of a pampered pooch! How do you spell CUTE? We spell it F-O-N-Z-I-E! Fonzie is a handsome 5-year-old, 12-pound, black w/some white, Shih Tzu Mix. He has a white chest and a white goatee. He weighed almost 14 pounds on intake: all matts and filth! He will regular professional grooming. He is a total lap dog and love bug. He wants to follow you wherever you go. He is very vocal and loves to talk to you. He also loves to rub against you like a cat. He will need leash training. He will need more house training, though he is doing well here at the sanctuary. He follows the dogs outside as a group with the command “go potty” and happily does his business. Can you give him the time he needs to adjust to a normal home live? He will delight you! Sonny is a handsome guy that will melt your heart! He is a 1-year-old, 8-pound, cream and white colored, Shih Tzu / Chihuahua mix ? Sonny was a stray at the Lodi City shelter when we pulled him, He has an adorable curled tail. Sunny will need a person who works from home and is with him most of the time. He is a great size to go everywhere you do! He is friendly but slightly shy. Sonny may need some leash training and house training. He is getting used to the routine of going outside with the command “go potty”. He keeps his kennel clean at night. He is a sweet, loving and playful boy.
