Story
Halo is a 4 year old, 20lb Shih Tzu.  Halo was surrendered from his owners becayse she had a lot of dogs and wanted to downsize.  Halo is the cutest little boy who is missing half his jaw, so his little tongue hangs out of his mouth all the time - it might be the cutest thing ever! Halo is the cutest little man with a big personality.  Halo loves to snuggle and hang out with his foster Momma.  He gets along with other dogs and is great on a leash.  He is pretty well trained and listens well.  Halo is also a pretty stubborn little man.   For some people this big personality is hilarous and they adore everything about him, everybody who meets him laughs at him and falls in love instantly.  He loves to cuddle and hang out and go for walks/wander around the back yard.  He is a non shedding dog so he will need someone who can get him regular grooming appointments.  If you are looking for an adorable little dog, with a tongue hanging out all the time, and a big personality Halo is your man! Story
Wendy is a 2-3 year old sweet girl weighing about 15-20lbs.  Wendy was dumped in a field when she was incredibly pregnant.  Luckily one of our wonderful rescue partners was able to get her in a safe foster home just hours before giving birth to 5 adorable pups.  Fast forward 2.5 Months and all Wendy's have found their forever families and now it's her turn to find a wonderful family of her very own.   Wendy is very playful. She loves to play with stuffed animals and loves our dogs. She is nervous around new people. She won’t let us touch her when we are standing up, but will come up on the couch and bed for pets the more she feels comfortable. She will follow us around and wag her tail at us and loves it when her fosters get down on the ground to let her get all the love and scratches.  We would love to see Wendy go to a home with another dog to continue gaining confidence. She seems to be potty trained.  She is a wonderful little girl who has been through a lot in her short life.  Her resiliance to trust and love is really showing through.  She just needs a family who will give her that patience and unconditioinal love while she continues to learn and trust. Story
Betty is a 6lb, 11+ year old SUPER SWEET Poodle.  Too often seniors are dumped at overcrowded shelters for many different reasons.  It could be because their owner has passed or they are unable to care them anymore, or often they have become "useless" or "too expensive" for their humans and are thrown away like yesterdays trash, easily replaced with a new, young puppy.  Dogs give their whole lives to their humans and their loyalty is unmatched, they deserve the same from us.  We try very hard to rescue as many senior dogs as possible, and find them a human that cherishes them for who they are and the love they have to give - even in their senior years.  Dogs often deserve so much more than humans give them, and we work tirelessly to make sure they get what they truly deserve.   Betty was surrendered by her loving humans family when she was unable to take care of her anymore, and her humans family could not be bothered to take care of Betty.  Betty was terrified and confused, trembling in a terrifying shelter without her Momma fir the first time ever.  The shelter reached out to us to get her out as quickly as possible because they knew she wasn't doing wel and may not make it out of there alive.  Once we sprang Betty from the shelter she immediately melted into her foster Momma's arms, as if she knew she was safe and going to be okay.  She made her way to CO on a rescue flight where she got to ride front seat in the pilots lap the whole time.  Betty has now been in CO a couple weeks and is ready to find her forever family.  She is a senior girl, and it looks like she may have some cloudiness in one eye - which comes with the territory of being older for dogs.  She seems like she is in great health and has a long life ahead of her.  She is the sweetest, most amazing little dog and her foster Momma has nothing but good things to say about her.   Her is what she has to say about her: "Betty couldn't be any more perfect.  She seems to be potty trained and she's super friendly.  She loves having an open crate to go hang out in but would much prefer to be on a humans lap 24-7.  A quiet household would be ideal for her to relax and snuggle all day long.  She gets along just fine with other dogs, but would prefer to chill and receive belly rubs and love all day long.  She would be perfect for someone who is looking for a low-key best friend to spend their days with.   If you are interested in adding Betty to your family, please fill out our adoption application at Brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##2299915##
