Story
Nitro! This adorable, 1.5 year old, boy with the curly Q tail is looking for a home. Nitro is 46 lbs but needs to pack on some pounds. He was found as a stray horribly matted and grossly underweight…..only 37 lbs. What a makeover he had. Nitro is now in foster care. He has springs on his feet which he uses to hop over his foster mom’s split rail fence—privacy only folks. While he doesn’t try to run away, he does like to find canine friends to play with or see where his humans are. Nitro is cat friendly. He’s very outgoing and personable to everyone he meets. He is a jumper when he greets his humans, so small or frail humans may not be a great match. Nitro is crate trained and seems well mannered in a home. He will require regular grooming and plenty of exercise. Nitro is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/nitro/. Story
Canelo is an approximately 8-year-old poodle mix who exhibits a youthful and energetic personality, characterized by his increased activity levels and a strong desire for attention. He has been neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on all vaccinations, which are excellent indicators of his good health and readiness for a new home. Despite his bright demeanor, Canelo's previous living conditions were less than ideal; he was having accidents inside, so he was left outside. Canelo thrives on close human contact and shows a particular comfort and affinity for being around children. His preference for intimacy and attention makes him a wonderful candidate for a family environment that can provide frequent, positive interactions. Given his exuberance, a home with older children who understand dog behavior and boundaries will be the best fit, helping to prevent unintentional overwhelm or inappropriate play. To ensure Canelo’s success in a new home, it is important to establish a supportive routine that includes regular, scheduled outdoor bathroom breaks combined with positive reinforcement and close supervision. Gradually expanding his allowed roaming space and careful nighttime management will further reinforce his housetraining efforts. With patience, structure, and love, Canelo is poised to become a joyful and well-adjusted companion. For those interested in providing a loving home for Canelo or who wish to learn more, please fill out an application or contact Debbie at (720) 588-6809 to arrange a meeting. ##2575332##

Story
Meet Sprocket, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big personality and a heart full of potential. Sprocket has had a rough start and comes with a history of reactivity and biting. He’s a scared dog who needs a firm, experienced owner to help him feel secure and establish boundaries. Sprocket has had training sessions and responds well to clear, consistent leadership. Once he knows you’re in charge, he’s much more relaxed and doesn’t push back. However, he does react to new people and should wear a muzzle during initial introductions for safety. Despite his challenges, Sprocket has no health issues and thrives on affection from his trusted person. He enjoys being cuddled and will show his sweet side once he’s built trust. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to provide a structured, loving environment, Sprocket could be a rewarding companion. He’s looking for someone who can help him overcome his fears and show him the love and stability he deserves.

Story
Meet Kona - Your Giant, Goofy, Loveable Cloud! Kona is a big Aussiedoodle with an even bigger personality. This fluffy superstar is equal parts silly, sweet, and full of life. He has that classic doodle bounce, so expect some enthusiastic hops when he is excited. His energy is contagious, and his goofy antics will have you laughing every day. He adores his people with his whole giant heart, but he is still working on feeling calm around other dogs. He can be reactive on leash, so he will thrive in a home that can offer structure, patience, and positive training as he continues to learn. He would much rather focus on you anyway. Your cuddles, your treats, and your attention are his favorite things in the world. Despite his size, he is a total softie who loves being close, making you smile, and showing off his goofy charm. If you want a loyal companion who brings joy, laughter, and lots of fluff into your life, Kona might be your perfect match. Rescue Notes:Kona will thrive with an adopter who can continue his training and help him build confidence on leash, especially around other dogs. He gets mouthy when he is excited, so ongoing guidance and structure will help him channel that enthusiasm in positive ways. He would love a home with a fenced yard where he can play, explore, and burn off his happy energy. ***NO APARTMENTS*** Kona needs a home to acclimate and receive training with before being walked on leash in any public spaces that other dogs walk   Apply online at www.lolasrescue.com  ##2587576##

Story
****PLEASE NOTE; Maisy and Millie are a BONDED PAIR. They are bonded to each other and must be adopted together.**** Meet Maisy & Millie! Maisy and Millie are a bonded pair of sweet, 4-year-old girls believed to be Maltipoos (Maltese/Poodle mixes). While we don’t DNA test our rescue dogs, this is an educated guess based on their appearance and size. Maisy is 8 lbs and Millie is 9 lbs. These two girls were found living on the streets of Houston before ending up in a large, overcrowded, and very scary shelter. When they arrived, both were covered in painful mats, had overgrown nails, and were understandably unsure and frightened by the shelter environment. Once rescued, their painful mats were carefully shaved away so they could finally feel comfortable and start to relax, and they’ve been feeling so much better ever since. Maisy is the more outgoing of the two. Millie is much more timid, though thankfully not nippy or bitey in the slightest. Just scared, but we know that she will learn soon that she is safe finally. Millie finds her comfort and courage by staying close to her sister, Maisy. Because of this deep bond, Maisy and Millie must be adopted together. Both girls are friendly, gentle souls who simply need time and patience to feel safe. They are so so sweet, just so unsure with everything going on right now. We are currently working on getting them out of the shelter and into a foster home where they can finally decompress and begin to relax. Once they feel safe, we’re confident their sweet personalities will continue to shine. Why adopting two can actually be easier than one: Bonded pairs like Maisy and Millie help regulate each other’s emotions. They provide comfort, confidence, and familiarity during transitions, which can actually make the adjustment into a new home smoother. They’re never truly alone, learn routines together, and often experience less anxiety because they have their built-in best friend by their side. Maisy and Millie will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great choices for hair care and longevity) to keep their coats cottony-soft, matte-free and shining with good health. We would love to see Maisy and Millie in a home with a individual, couple, or active retirees who have the time and heart for a loyal and loving companion. We'd hate to see them left alone all day while their family works full-time outside of the home. A family that works from a home-based office is a great choice for these sweet dogs. Farfel's Rescue would like to see Maisy and MIllie in a home where they'll get consistent mental stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A positive reinforcement / force free training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for these young dogs, whose self-esteems will fly high while they master their skills. Farfel's feels so strongly about a training opportunity for all dogs that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person positive reinforcement/force free trainers in your area. Maisy and Millie are both up to date on their vetting and vaccines, and are both spayed and healthy. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for Maisy and Millie. If interested in this gorgeous pair, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
