Say HELLO to Maverick! Mavvy, as he is affectionately called, is the ultimate Standard Poodle! Smart, active, loving, loyal, and a touch stubborn….just like any self respecting Standard Poodle should be!  Maverick is just over 2 years old and about 60 lbs. He’s great with dogs of all sizes, house trained, and crate trained. He’s looking for a tried and true Standard Poodle family who loves a good Velcro dog. This boy loves to be right by his person’s side - he gives the best hugs! Mavvy’s favorite time of day is bedtime because that means he gets to cuddle up in bed next to his person all night long - sleeping in bed is non-negotiable as far as Maverick is concerned.  Are you a Standard Poodle person looking for your new BFF? Meet Tiggy!  Earlier in the year we rescued Tate and Truman, 2 standard poodles, along with a poodle mix puppy from Upson County after they had been surrendered to animal control. A couple of weeks ago, we found out the same family had just surrendered 3 more standard poodles. We really take the “You don’t leave family behind” philosophy seriously, so even though it had been months since we saved the first group and we REALLY don’t have room for more dogs - we knew we had to save these guys! Teller was in the worst shape. He was completely matted and caked in mud. And his poor eyes so infected. It took hours to get him cleaned up. If you’ve ever had to shave down a severely matted dog, you’ll know it’s very similar to sheering a sheep - the hair just comes off in one huge piece. Thankfully, the girls Tiggy and Teagan, had been groomed before at some point and were in much better shape.  Our unconfirmed theory is that Teagan (grey) is mom to Teller (black) and Tiggy (blonde). Teller and Tiggy both appear to be about a year old so we think they are probably littermates. All three of these amazing poodles are super super sweet; great with dogs of all sizes; and cats!!  These guys are all looking for tried and true Standard Poodle homes. To know poodles is to love them, but these 3 have all been failed by humans once and we won’t let that happen again - so we really do want homes that know all the good, bad, and ugly that comes with having Standard Poodles as family members. Meet Tommy!  Looking for a workout partner to help you meet your fitness goals in the New Year? So is Tommy! Tommy is a 5 yr old Shih Tzu whose human mom passed away about a year ago. Family members did step in to try to give Tommy a loving home, but having health issues of their own they found themselves overwhelmed and realized Tommy deserved more than they could provide. So they made the selfless decision to surrender him to RMG and allow him to find a family where he could go on to live his best life! Tommy is great with all dogs and cats. He’s the perfect combination of playful and cuddly, making him such a great little guy. Tommy is, however, “pleasantly plump” so we are looking for an active family who will help him meet his fitness goals so he can live a long and healthy life!
