Story
Meet Teddy: glow-up king, calm companion, and certified good boy 🐾✨
Teddy is a 3-year-old owner surrender who landed in rescue after living in a home where his boundaries weren’t always respected. In stressful moments, Teddy tried to communicate his discomfort the only way he knew how. But since coming into foster care he’s shown just how sweet, gentle, and adaptable he really is.
He may be slightly nervous when first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and has recently done great with men he’s been properly introduced to (after he was not so pleased with a prior male veterinarian). Once he’s comfortable, Teddy is easygoing, affectionate, and happy to just hang out with his human.
Teddy is quiet, gets along well with other dogs, is excellent in his crate, and reliably goes outside to potty. He’s also fantastic in the car—errands, vet visits, or road trips, he’s in. When he first arrived he was… let’s say rough around the edges (scruffy and flea-loaded), but after some TLC and a proper grooming, he’s now looking polished, handsome, and feeling much better about life.
He’s currently fostered in a busy household with four young kids (ages 2–10). He likes the kids, but all the activity can be a bit overwhelming at times, and if he feels uncomfortable he may nip. Because of this, Teddy would thrive in a calmer home or one with older, dog-savvy kids who understand canine boundaries. He’s also totally fine with the resident cat. He’s had only a couple of indoor accidents, likely due to the hustle and bustle rather than a lack of training.
Teddy is looking for a loving, lower-stress home where he can relax, feel secure, and continue to blossom. If you’re searching for a quiet, well-mannered companion with a sweet heart and a freshly groomed shine—Teddy might just be your perfect match 💙

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
