Story
Prentiss is a beautiful standard Poodle born on March 27, 2025. She’s a sweet, loving, and gentle girl. Prentiss gets along wonderful with other dogs and kids. She got to meet a few cats at her last vet visit and didn't have any issues with them as well. She knows how to walk on a leash and is almost potty trained. If she has an accident, she knows to use the pads. She loves to play with balls and stuffed animals. Prentiss rides great in the car and seems to really enjoy it. She is a total love bug. She gives lots of kisses and likes to snuggle up in the bed with you. This precious girl would make a great addition to any home. We would prefer that she goes to a home that has another dog because she loves other dogs so much.

Story
Meet Max! A wise and wonderful twelve-year-old Poodle mix currently living in Ayer, MA, whose heart is as soft as his charcoal-dusted black coat. Max is a medium-sized gentleman, weighing in at 40 pounds, and he’s got one soulful eye that sees straight into your heart—and probably your snack bag, too! Max is the definition of a devoted companion. His world revolves around his people, and he’s happiest when he’s close—whether it's trotting by your side on a peaceful walk, snoozing nearby while you work, or simply following you from room to room. Max isn’t just a velcro dog—he’s a full-on shadow with a heartbeat. Because Max forms deep bonds, he struggles when left alone. His separation anxiety is very real and not just a bit of whining. When his people leave, Max becomes stressed and unsettled. At first, he’ll pace and vocalize his concern with soft whining and barking. If left for longer stretches, this turns into digging or chewing at doors and crates in a determined effort to find his way back to his loved ones. He doesn’t mean harm—his heart just hurts when he’s not near his favorite human. This anxiety can also make Max reactive in certain situations. When feeling stressed or unsure, he may bark, growl, or charge at other dogs or unfamiliar people, especially if they approach him or his person too quickly. It’s his way of saying, “I’m scared and overwhelmed,” not “I’m aggressive.” Max is working on this through consistency, calm guidance, and plenty of reassurance. A quiet home with an experienced caregiver who understands reactivity and is comfortable using positive reinforcement will be key in helping him feel safe and confident. Max knows a long list of commands and thrives with structure, routine, and predictability. He’s neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. He requires a low-fat diet to manage chronic pancreatitis and receives care for hypothyroidism. Max is seeking a home where he can be the one-and-only pet, without young children or a revolving door of visitors. If you’re someone who’s home often or can include Max in your daily routine, he’ll repay you with unwavering loyalty and affection! Could Max be the one to fill your life with quiet companionship and devoted love? Reach out to meet him at adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Mistletoe is a little sweetheart and she has tons of personality! Her mom is a small B&W rat terrier mix and dad is a doodle. Mom was taken in as a stray by a lady with an unaltered doodle. Before she could find a rescue to help with mom, she became pregnant. Mistletoe, th runt in the litter, is friendly, loving and smart! She is great with other dogs and people of all ages. She has not been around a cat yet but we are confident she will be fine with proper intro. Being the runt, she always seems to end up on the bottom and she still plays hard and never gets mad! Mistletoe is healthy, UTD on puppy shots and worming. She will be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. Based on puppy weight calculators we think she will be between 25 and 35 lbs. If you would like to add this sweetheart to your family, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. Story
Hello, our names are Champ (m) and Eva (f). We are the sweetest, gentlest, happiest big babies you have ever met. We are siblings, but, we are being adopted together or separate. We are people and children social. Right now in rescue we are living with 11 other dogs. We have not been cat tested yet. We came into rescue because our family was growing. Our family already had a 5 & 2 year old children. Close to Thanksgiving their family will welcome another child. So, here we are. My ideal family is active, loving and adores snuggling. I am a happy camper. I do love hiking, walking, camping, going to the beach, walking with you while you pick apples or blueberries. I am heartworm positive but have already started treatment. I am house-trained, leash-trained and give hugs. My favorite thing to do is stand/lay/sit at your feet and just be.there with you. My mom was a Doodle; Dad was a Standard Poodle. We are wonderful at the groomers (nervous at first, but love the people). Please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. When you receive the application, please fill out completely including your three references email addresses. Your references cannot be related to you. Next step after you submit your application is to submit a refundable deposit $200. The deposit is an indication of your intention to adopt me. If for any reason you cancel the adoption, you are given a complete refund. Once the application and deposit are received, I am moved from available to adoption pending with your name beside mine.
