Story
Officially introducing Abbey — a sweet Shih Tzu senior with just a touch of sass 🐾❤️ Abbey is a 13-year-old sweetheart who came into our care when her beloved owner was sadly placed into hospice. Shortly after arriving, it was discovered that Abbey had a very large bladder stone. She underwent surgery, is in recovery and is now feeling so much better and ready to enjoy the next chapter of her life. Abbey is currently being fostered in Whitby, Ontario, where she has shown just how special she is. This lovely girl will absolutely steal your heart — all she really wants is a cozy spot on the couch to share with her forever person. Abbey would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the day to spend time with her. She could do well with a calm canine companion or as the only dog. Cats are unknown, but we believe she would likely be okay. Once Abbey claims her space on the couch, she’ll politely let other dogs know it’s hers — however, if she’s placed on the floor and another pup hops up, she’s perfectly happy to share. She’s a bit of a grazer when it comes to meals but will never say no to a treat. Abbey loves being close to her humans, including at bedtime — she curls up so quietly you’d hardly know she’s there. Abbey does great in the car with no motion sickness, and while she may bark at new people at first, it’s just her way of saying “hello, I’m here and I’d like to be acknowledged.” As a senior girl, Abbey will need more frequent bathroom breaks, but aside from that, she is truly an absolute dream. This sweet soul has so much love left to give and is patiently waiting for her forever home. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Meet Goldie — a sweet, affectionate little girl who’s looking for a loving home where she can continue to thrive. Goldie is about 9 lbs and is believed to be a mix of Chihuahua, Spaniel and Poodle — though her exact mix is anyone’s guess. She has a beautifully soft coat that doesn’t seem to shed and is estimated to be around 2-3 years old. Goldie is settling in beautifully at her foster home in Mount Albert, where she’s happiest curled up on everyone’s lap whenever she gets the chance. She’s a very social, happy pup who loves meeting new people and eagerly runs up to say hello. She gets along well with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. She has met children and was very happy to see them, and we feel she would do well in a home with older kids who understand and respect dog boundaries. Goldie is adaptable, joyful, and takes new experiences in stride. She loves toys, zoomies, and interactive play, and she continues to make great progress every day. Goldie would thrive in a home with another playful dog who enjoys companionship and fun, but she would also do very well as the only dog as long as she receives plenty of attention, regular walks, and opportunities to burn off her energy. We did explore a home with cats for Goldie, but it became clear that a cat-free home would be the most comfortable and stress-free environment for her. Our goal is simply to set her up for long-term success in a space where she can fully relax and be herself. Cuddly, affectionate, and eager to bond with her people, Goldie is ready to bring love, playfulness, and lots of lap time to her forever home ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Thank you for your interest in Hubert. He is such a fun loving, energetic, happy, barky boy. He loves people and dogs and life. Some of it he loves a little too much. Well, not too much for him but too much for other dogs. But he is really just a softee who wants to run and play and be chased. Hubert hasn't had the best start in life. He was sold to an elderly owner who wasn't able to manage a happy, energetic dog so Hubert landed in a day care/boarding facility. His owner wasn't able to take him back and the really sad things started happening. He was sold, returned, sold, returned and finally someone took him to the vet. Hubert was really matted and was finally groomed. It was then discovered that he had a terrible ear infection and an infected toe! Once again people had failed him. Off to the vet he went and as soon as he received treatment he felt so much better and his happy came out! He went to live with another family and they really loved him but underestimated how much energy is required when you have a dog like Hubert so SPIN was called. Hubert is just the kind of dog we love! Running, bouncing, barking, playing, snuggling, hugging, what could be better?
