Story
Mags is a young, bright, emotionally big Standard Poodle who has had a busier start to life than most. She grew up in homes that cared about her, but none were quite equipped to manage her energy, her enthusiasm, or her tendency to become overstimulated. After finding herself in a shelter—confused, over-aroused, and unsure how to channel all her excitement—Mags came into SPIN’s care so she could finally get the structure and support she has always needed. She is an affectionate, social girl with a lot of love to give, but she experiences the world at full volume. New places, new people, and outdoor environments can cause her arousal to spike quickly, which leads to jumping, grabbing, and mouthy behaviour. None of this comes from a place of aggression—Mags simply hasn’t been shown how to regulate her emotions. Now that she’s in foster care and beginning to decompress, we’re finally getting to know the real Mags.

Tis’ the Season to Adopt a Senior!!!!! Meet Lucas – Our Sweet Senior Looking for a Calm, Kid-Free Forever Home Lucas is a 12 lb poodle–schnauzer mix who was adopted from Coveted Canines 9 years ago and spent almost a decade as a deeply loved family member. As his family grew, it became clear that Lucas was not comfortable around little ones. The noise, crawling, and unpredictability of young children made him anxious, and he would react with barking and growling when he felt overwhelmed or unsure. His family did everything they could to keep him separated and feeling safe, but ultimately realized that Lucas would be happiest in a home without children, where he can enjoy his senior years in peace. Per their adoption contract, Lucas was returned to the same rescue he originally came from, and he is now thriving in his foster home. He lives with several dogs and gets along beautifully with them, often choosing to quietly cuddle up next to the other seniors. For his age, Lucas is in great health and enjoys a calm, predictable routine. He may be experiencing some hearing loss, which can contribute to his sensitivity in busy environments, but in a peaceful home he is relaxed, sweet, and content. Lucas is fully housetrained, has no food restrictions, and is an excellent candidate for condo living. All he wants is a quiet, loving home where he can be the centre of your world. Lucas has been vetted with core vaccines (dh2pp, rabies), neutered, microchipped, dewormed, on tick/heartworm and flea prevention, had a dental last year and his teeth are still ok. If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate senior who will be your loyal companion, Lucas just might be your perfect match. If you can give this good senior boy the love and space he needs, please fill out a Canine Adoption Application on our website at: covetedcanines.org/application

Story
QUICK FACTS Name: Caramel Age: 9 years old Gender: Female Spayed/Neutered: Yes Breed: Mini poodle Colour: Brown Weight: 7kg / 15.4lbs Microchipped: Yes   MY RESCUE STORY  I was rescued from a city pound, where I had sadly ended up on the euthanasia list. I’m not entirely sure how I got there, but volunteers and staff suspect I may have come from an illegal puppy mill. Thankfully, I was given a second chance, and now I’m ready to find a loving forever home!   MY HEALTH  Fully vaccinated (5-round series complete) I’ve been spayed and have no known health issues.   MY PERSONALITY  When you meet me, it won’t take long to see why I’m called Caramel! My soft, warm brown fur and sweet, affectionate personality make me impossible not to adore. I absolutely love human companionship and can’t get enough of pets, cuddles, and affection. Volunteers and staff say I’m a total sweetheart, but I also have a playful, high-energy side—I love exploring, running around, and having fun outdoors! I get along wonderfully with my dog friends too and enjoy making new furry pals wherever I go.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS  With People: I’m a total people-lover and everyone I meet quickly becomes my friend! I’ll happily show my belly to strangers, and you can easily pick me up for snuggles. When I really like someone, I love to curl up in their arms for extra cuddles. While I don’t have much experience with kids yet, my sweet and gentle nature means I’ll likely do well with dog-savvy children. I’m easygoing at mealtime too, as I don’t guard my food from people.   With Dogs:  I love meeting new dog friends and joining in on playtime! I usually get along best with dogs my size or a bit smaller, and I enjoy making new furry friends at my own pace.   With Cats:  I haven’t met any cats yet, so my reaction is unknown. But with my sweet gentle nature, I think I will do well with thoughtful and careful introductions.   ENERGY AND ACTIVITIES I’m a high-energy pup who loves to run, explore, and play outdoors! I need plenty of exercise to burn off my zoomies, but once I’ve had my fun, I’m the ultimate snuggle buddy indoors—ready to curl up and relax with my favorite humans.    TRAINING & HABITS I walk well on leash and usually follow my handler’s lead, though I might get a little excited and pull if something catches my attention. I don’t guard my food from people or dogs, and I’m generally easygoing around mealtime. While I don’t have separation anxiety right now, I do tend to form a strong attachment to one special person, so with time in my forever home, I may need some guidance to help me feel secure without becoming overly clingy. I can bark when I want attention, and I’m still learning to settle quietly in my kennel—I may whine at first, but I adjust quickly. I know how to potty both indoors and outdoors.   New places and environments can be a little scary for me at first. I might hide or shake from fear, but give me a few days to rest and feel safe, and I’ll open up to become a loyal shadow who follows you everywhere. I’ve done well in previous foster homes in Korea, showing that with patience, I quickly adjust. I have a high-energy, playful side too—I love to explore, run, and have fun! With continued guidance, I can learn to balance my attachment and excitement, making me a devoted and joyful companion for the right family.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m looking for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a safe, structured, and calm environment. A family that enjoys spending quality time together indoors & outdoors. A family that can shower me with love and attention. A family that understands my high-energy needs and willing to provide me plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.    SPECIAL NOTES  Volunteers and staff describe me as a sweet and playful girl who’s ready to find my forever family! I absolutely love spending time with people and getting lots of pets and cuddles. I enjoy meeting new dog friends and playing with them, and I have lots of energy to explore outdoors before snuggling up indoors. With a little patience while I settle in, I’ll quickly become your loyal, joyful, and loving companion. I can’t wait to find a family that will shower me with love and make me feel safe, happy, and adored every single day.   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here! Caramel's YouTube Playlist ##2528157##
