Name: Little Man Age: 2 years Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Shih Tzu Weight: 10.5 pounds Adoption fee: $400 (altered, vaccines up to date, microchipped, vet checked) Location: IN FOSTER, please fill out an adoption application at azsmalldog.org/adoption-form Compatibility with other dogs: Good Compatibility with cats: Unknown Compatibility with kids: Older kids Energy level: Moderate If you are looking for a dopey little lovebug, look no further than Little Man. Little man came to the rescue after his owner sadly passed away, and he has been anxiously awaiting his forever home since that time. Little Man is such a sweet boy. Little man is a little slow to warm up, but once he does, he will be your constant shadow. He is the perfect lap dog who wants nothing more than endless cuddles. He would likely do best in a home with someone home more often than not. He is very awkward when picked up (his foster mom describes this as sloth mode), so he will likely do best in a home with older children, if any. Little man struggles with food allergies, which is maintained by his protein-specific diet (no sneaking treats). He is potty pad trained but needs some additional some time and work to be completely house trained.   WEEKEND ADOPTION EVENT LOCATION: Saturdays 11am to 3pm at Petco at Tatum & Bell Rd       4727 East Bell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85032  *Visit our website or Facebook page for special events schedules, news, and more info!* Website: www.azsmalldog.org     Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/arizonasmalldogrescue/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2025, 1:59 pm

Story
Ozzy came to us from CA where he was at risk due to some pretty typical old man issues. He has really blossomed in his foster home and is now feeling and looking great. He is around 11 years old and about 13 lbs and is a really nice boy. He got a dental when he was neutered and his bloodwork came back with no concerns. Ozzy is good about going potty outside with regular opportunities. He loves hanging out in the yard when the weather is nice and loves the other dogs he lives with once he gets to know them (even tries to play!!). He does well on a leash and walks right by other dogs no fuss or barking. He is fine in a crate though has good house manners. Because he loves his yard time he would likely be best in a home with at least a small fenced yard. Ozzy was initially very standoffish but soon warms up and starts connecting. His level of intimacy and preference for pets and cuddles is more akin to a cats though; he will come up and solicit pets when he is in the mood but often chooses a few feet of distance. If you ever wanted a cat in dog form or a dog that isn't 'too needy' this one is the right pick for you!! Ozzy does prefer females or men that are not too big and imposing, and his innate skittishness and appreciation of space means kids would not be a good match. Ozzy loves to nap and food is his love language. Ozzy will take time a patience to adapt to a new home Ozzy does have some resource guarding with food so just needs to be fed alone. Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogon Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children, and we do not know how they will react. Hi! My name is Mimi, and I am a sweet Shih Tzu girl who was born 7/31/17, and I weigh 14 pounds. I lived in a home with all of the windows covered all of my life until my dad passed away and my mom couldn’t take care of me anymore. I never felt the sun on my face or felt the grass under my feet. I must have an all-adult home with an adopter familiar with the needs of my breed. I have always lived with other dogs and get along well with everyone.  If you have been waiting for a sweet Shih Tzu, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org.
