Story
Jeb is being fostered in PA. Meet Jeb! He would love to be your little velcro buddy! Jeb is 6-8 years young and is doing great on his houstraining. He has very few accidents! Jeb loves to be outside, but most of all, he loves toys! He will empty the toy box and have his toys everywhere around him playing with them. He also loves to be right beside his person or persons. He is a charming little guy who is looking for his loving forever home. Is that you? BDRA has voted not to use electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
***Local adoption only: Piper needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to her follow-up vetting appointments for remaining vaccines and spay with PPR's vetting partner. These appointments have already been scheduled and their cost is covered in the adoption donation.***  Hi! I’m Piper, a 5monthold, 9 pound Shih Tzu–Poodle blend with a joyful wiggle, a curious nose and a love for toys of every kind. My name means “the one who plays the pipe,” and I try to bring that same cheerful energy to everything I do. I adore exploring, snuggling and carrying around treasures I find. I’m still learning where to potty, but I’m trying hard and appreciate encouragement from my people. Favorite Things: Piper is happiest with a toy in her mouth, whether it’s a stuffed animal, a ball for fetch or a paper towel roll she proudly claims as a prize. She loves car rides, snuffle mats, friendly greetings and curling up in the people bed for a full night’s sleep. Training and Manners: Piper knows “sit,” comes when called and walks politely on a leash. She’s gentle, responsive to redirection and greets guests quietly. Housetraining is still developing and will need consistency. When home alone, she settles in a secure area. Health and Care: Piper is a healthy girl who needs daily brushing and regular professional grooming. She drinks enthusiastically, so a water bottle setup helps keep her face clean and avoid staining. She will require a home in the Central Florida (Orlando) area that can take her to her remaining puppy vet appointments and spay, already scheduled with PPR’s vetting partner and covered by her adoption donation. Other Animals: Piper enjoys dogs of all sizes and adjusts nicely to their energy. She hasn’t met cats, but her temperament suggests she could adapt with slow introductions. Children: She hasn’t been around children yet. With her sweet, gentle nature, she may do well with respectful kids (8+) and proper guidance. Ideal Home: Piper would thrive with adopters who appreciate an active, inquisitive puppy and can continue her learning. She’s well suited for an apartment, condo or townhome as long as she gets regular activity and mental stimulation. A patient family that enjoys her playful independence will help her shine. Overall: Piper is a bright, affectionate, spirited pup who charms everyone she meets. With continued guidance—especially in housetraining and grooming comfort—she’ll grow into a wonderful lifelong companion. She’s ready to bring her sweetness and spark to a family who will adore her. Could Piper be the one for you? Then visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, her foster family will reach out with more information. Her adoption donation is $650. ##2658673##
