You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Kobe Kobe is little nervous about new people and situations.  He does not like people to move quickly at him or hover over the top.  He needs a little time to get to know you and feel that he can trust.  So he will need a quiet home where there are not lots of people coming and going.  Due to his uncertainty he MUST be in an adult ONLY home.    He is potty trained and walks well on the leash.    Important Information for New Puppy Parents  Welcoming a new puppy into your home is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it also comes with important responsibilities. To help your puppy grow into a happy, confident, and well-adjusted adult dog, dedication to obedience training, socialization, and consistent potty training is essential.  We strongly recommend that the entire family participates in puppy training classes. This not only helps build a strong bond with your new pup but also ensures that everyone is using the same commands and techniques, creating a clear and consistent environment for learning.  **Puppies thrive with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement—and so do their families! Let’s set them up for a lifetime of love and success  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 30, 2026, 8:38 pm

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Hi, I’m Moby! I’m an adorable 10-year-old Shih Tzu-Poodle boy who is looking for a home that’s as laid back as me. At 18 pounds of pure chill, I’m a certified couch potato and proud of it!  My vision is impaired but that doesn’t damper my curiosity or love of cuddles.  Favorite Things: Moby loves naps and food!  He also likes to stay close to his special person and, in between naps, will follow them around the house, curious about their activities. Due to his vision impairment, he takes his time getting from one place to another and can startle easily.  He can take or leave toys, but he does enjoy short, leisurely walks, especially if they involve treats. This little guy enjoys fresh blueberries and other dog-friendly fruits, as well as steamed carrots and a bit of peanut butter now and again. Training & Manners: Moby is house trained in his foster home where he is let out regularly. He has good basic house manners and walks well on a leash.  He tolerates a car ride and, once he settles down for the night, sleeps soundly, either in the people bed or his dog bed. Health & Care: Moby is currently given eye ointments and drops several times/day and the cost of these medicines is about $45 per month.  This handsome guy is neutered, heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and recently had a dental cleaning. He’ll need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog, and regular brushing and professional grooming every 6 -8 weeks will help him look and feel his best. Other Animals: Moby has experience with other dogs and tends to ignore them.  Very active dogs, especially large ones, can startle him given his vision issues.  Moby hasn’t been tested with cats but his foster mom thinks he would be ok with them. Children: This sweet senior would do best in a home with adults and teens only. Ideal Home: Moby is vision-impaired and depth perception is a particular issue, so a home without stairs or a pool is a must for him.  Otherwise, he would do fine in an apartment, condo, townhome or single home. Once he becomes familiar with the home and with special attention paid to the safety of his surroundings, Moby can be left alone in the home for a few hours without issues. Overall: If you’re looking for a low-key, gentle, and loving companion, Moby might be the one for you.  If you think he might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, his foster family will reach out with more information. His adoption donation is $275. ##2697888##
