Teddy is an amazing dog. He funny, a great cuddler and energetic. I does have separation anxiety and doesn’t do well with children. With some patience and training that could change. He is house trained and up to date on all shots. He has had some medical problems as far as his anal glands getting infected. Other than that, all healthy.

Story
***Local adoption required: Toby needs to be adopted by a family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking him to his follow-up vetting appointments with PPR's vetting partner. The cost of the appointments is covered in the adoption donation.***Hello!  My name is Toby.  I am a 7 ½-year-old Shih Tzu/Terrier blend boy weighing 24 lbs.  I am easy going and laid back and looking for a forever home where I will be given lots of love and affection.  And I’ll give you so much love in return. General Behavior: Toby is adventurous, communicative, gentle and playful.  He absolutely adores people. When you scratch his ear, he’ll smile his lopsided smile and lean into you nuzzling against your hand. He is snuggly and will curl up next to you and snooze as you binge your latest Netflix obsession. Likes & Dislikes: Toby LOVES toys – after dinner he enjoys playing with his favorite plush red apple squeaker toy (which will accompany him to his new home).  He also loves a good game of fetch and will show off just how fast he can run.  Spoiler alert . . . it’s FAST!  He is also perfectly content to play with his toys by himself but can be a little protective of his toys at times. He also loves going for a car ride. Training: Toby is fully housetrained in his foster home and will need to continue to be let out on a regular schedule.  He has good basic manners and will happily follow commands.  His foster mom says he is incredibly smart (she swears he understands entire sentences). He knows “off”, “go lie down”, “let’s go to bed”, and “wanna go potty?”  His foster mom works from home and when she says, “get to work”, he runs to her office to choose his bed for the day before his foster home siblings snag the one he wants.  Medical:  Toby has chronic allergy issues, but we have them under control at this point. He takes Apoquel daily to help reduce the itching, and he is currently under the treatment of a dermatologist veterinarian in Maitland. Toby will need his initial allergy testing then will have a specialized allergy medicine created for him. Additionally, he has a dental cleaning in May.  Toby’s dental cleaning, as well as his allergy vetting costs will be covered by the rescue for one year after adoption.  He will also need his monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention like any other dog. Other Animals: Toby has experience with small dogs only, both calm and playful.  He is fostered with multiple small dogs, and he generally ignores them. If they annoy him or if he gets frustrated, he’ll generally let the other dog know to leave him alone. He would do best in a home with another small, submissive dog or an independent dog that doesn’t get into his business much. He has not been tested with cats, but his foster thinks he would be okay with them. Children: Toby would do best in a home without small children, but children ages 10 and older would be suitable, as long as they are respectful.    Home:  Toby would thrive in a home where his person is home more often than not. He would be happy in a house, condo or apartment.  Toby can be left alone for several hours  without issue and has free rein of his foster home.  At night, he sleeps in the “big person” bed or a bed of his own. Grooming: Toby could benefit from occasional professional grooming depending on how you like to see his coat.  He will also need nail trims and baths. Overall: Toby is a great dog for someone who wants one with all the advantages of having a fully trained dog by their side. He is a true gentleman. Are you the one for Toby? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You will be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it is a potential match. He is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption donation is $275. ##2021335##

Story
Ari is being fostered in PA. Little Ari is guessed to be about 12 years old and appears to be a shih tzu mix. She is a quiet, gentle, passive, loveable girl who loves her meals and can sleep like no other! She gets along well with other dogs, cats, and people of all ages. She simply ignores other dogs and cats in her foster home and needs to be in a home with gentle pets and children because it does not appear like she will defend or stick up for herself. She is just as happy to snuggle up on the sofa as she is to find her bed for the day on the floor. She seems to enjoy sniffing all she can when she’s outside but may not make the best walk buddy, as she’d rather meander and smell things. She rides well in the car and tolerates her foster mom’s kisses very well. Ari is completely blind since she has no eyes and her hearing is poor. Her foster mom keeps a potty pad close to her bed so when she gets up from her nap, she has it to potty on when her mom is working. She will not indicate a need to go out to potty. She will need to be carried outside but does fine exploring once she’s out. She cannot go up or down stairs by herself. She will have a dental and a lumpectomy of a non-cancerous mass on her cheek on May 9th and will be ready to find her forever home shortly after. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
