Story
Well, well, well… looks like you found me. The name’s Max, and yes, I AM as cute as I look — possibly cuter in person, but we can discuss that after you submit your application. I’m a one-year-old Malshi boy (that’s Maltese Shih Tzu for the uninitiated), and at a whopping 9 pounds with my longer-than-expected little legs, I’m basically the sports car of the small dog world. Low to the ground? Not exactly. Full of zoom? Absolutely. My story is just getting started — my family gave me up, and I landed with a Good Samaritan who contacted FCCR to help me find a new home. And I have a feeling the best chapter is still ahead. Here’s what you need to know about me: I’m all puppy 🐶, I love toys, I cuddle hard AND I play hard. Tug of war is basically my love language, but after a good romp, I am MORE than happy to curl up and just be your little guy. I sleep through the night like a champ and I’m pretty great in the car, so road trips? Yes please. I’m still working on some puppy basics — housebreaking (going really well!), leash walking, and general training — and I do best with a consistent daily schedule. A patient adopter who’s ready to invest a little time in me will be rewarded BIG. A canine sibling to run with and learn from would honestly make my whole world. I’m great with dogs, cats, and kids too, so bring the whole crew! Apply to adopt me at https://tinyurl.com/FCCRadoptionapp Adoption fee: $425

Story
Sweet little Skip was surrendered for adoption when his owner could no longer care for him due to health challenges. He arrived with his beloved bonded companion, Fanny, and the two are inseparable—they must be adopted together. Skip has kidney disease and is eligible for a medical foster arrangement, if that’s something his future family prefers. Despite his condition, he’s an incredibly affectionate boy who simply needs a warm, comfortable place to call home. If you have space in your heart and home for two gentle senior companions, Skip and Fanny could be the perfect match.  Consider completing an application and scheduling a visit to meet these sweethearts today. https://animalrefugecenter.com/adoption-application My ideal home: I need a calm, patient family to take care of me I'm good with: Most Other Dogs   Young Children   Older Children   Men   Women    Date of birth March 2013May 31, 2026, 1:40 pm

Story
I'm Benji, and I am ALL puppy — in the very best way! This 1-year-old, 10-pound Maltese Shih Tzu mix boy started life as a backyard breeder dog, but you'd never know it now. I'm happy, playful, and absolutely delighted by the world around me. Backyard? I must investigate every inch of it. Toys? I'll play fetch AND tug of war, with you, by myself, or with a furry friend — I'm flexible. Zoomies? Oh yes. Until I can't anymore. Then nap time. I ride like a champ in the car, sleep sweetly on my dog bed, and I am *very* dignified at dinner. I can be a little skittish at first, but once I've found my people, I become a certified shadow. My foster mom can confirm I follow her everywhere, including the bathroom. Someone's gotta keep watch. I look up to my foster brother Hermie and hope to have a canine bestie just like him in my forever home — a doggie sibling and a fenced yard would be my absolute dream! Still polishing my potty skills (but doing great!) — a patient family and a consistent potty schedule are all I need to nail it! NO cats please, and I would probably do ok with older dog-savvy kids.
