🐾 Meet Shiro – A Gentle Soul Looking for His Next Loving Home Meet Shiro, an 8-year-old Shih Tzu with a gentle heart and perfect manners. He is extremely friendly with kids, dogs, and strangers—very social, playful, and always eager to please. Shiro is obedient, never aggressive, and rarely barks (only at unfamiliar sounds or the occasional animal on TV). He is fully potty trained and clearly communicates his needs for food, water, and potty breaks. Shiro is low-maintenance and never demanding, yet he enjoys occasional attention and affection. He loves running around the backyard chasing leaves and happily playing with kids and other dogs. He has been a loving child to our family, and with a heavy heart, we are looking to rehome him as we are relocating out of the country. We hope to find caring parents who can provide him the same love, comfort, and safe home he deserves. Looking for a gentle, friendly, well-mannered companion? When Georgina owner passed away she was left with a fur brother and sister. They were alone in the house for almost 2 weeks. She was neglected by the owner who couldn’t even care for herself. Georgina is the sweetest little girl with her tongue that always sticks out. She is potty trained (likes to go out often). She is also crate trained. When it’s bed time just tell her to “go to bed” and she jumps right in. Of course she gets a treat for that. She is dog and cat friendly. She is afraid of stairs and she requires you to carry her up & down. Remember she only weights about 9 lbs. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Tigger is an 8-year-old Shih Tzu (under 15 lbs) currently being fostered in Smyrna, GA and available for adoption through Hero Dog Rescue. His owner passed away, and the only family he had left were his two sisters (a 9-year-old and a 10-year-old Shih Tzu) who he had lived with his entire life. They had never been apart. When rescue stepped in, no one was able to foster all three together, so for the first time in his life, Tigger was separated from them. Overnight, he lost his person, his home, and the only dogs he had ever known. When he arrived in rescue, his condition was heartbreaking. His fur was so badly matted that he had to push his face into blankets just to get the hair out of his eyes. The matting around his butt was so severe that he couldn’t even go to the bathroom properly. The vets had to shave him down completely, and without rescue stepping in when they did, he could have gotten very sick. And yet… he is still the sweetest little dog. Tigger is calm, gentle, and loves people. He’s potty trained, crate trained, dog-friendly, and would really love another dog in the home — he’s spent his whole life with sisters and clearly feels safest with a companion. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, and ready for a fresh start. Getting Tigger adopted also opens space in my home so I can take in foster puppies who need somewhere safe to go, so one adoption helps save more than one life. He’s been through more than most dogs his age ever should. Now he just needs a soft place to land. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Bruno may be small, but he’s got a big personality—and a little spice to go with it! This clever, loyal pup is full of love once he feels safe with you. At first, he can be nervous around new people and situations, but with patience (and maybe a little cheese), his sweet and affectionate side shines through. Because Bruno can become nippy if startled or rushed, he’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands “spicy” dogs and is willing to respect his boundaries. A calm, low-traffic home without children will be the best fit for him. The good news? Bruno has plenty of great qualities to offer his perfect person! He’s housetrained, crate-trained, and enjoys the company of other dogs. A fenced yard is required. While he can walk on a leash, he becomes very reactive to strangers. To help set him up for success, Bruno’s adoption will include a couple of meet-and-greets and a home visit. He isn’t a dog for everyone—but for the right person, he’ll be a devoted and wonderful companion. Baby Bruno weighs 13lbs. and is approximately 4 years old (est. birth date 03/22/2021). He’s learning how to play, how to feel safe and loved, and how to channel his excitement — complete with the cutest zoomies and fun energic moments that will absolutely make you laugh. He’s crate trained, doing great with potty training, walks well on leash, and is very treat-motivated (which makes him super trainable). Farley is working on controlling some of his more puppy impulses and making awesome progress every day. He’d do best in a home with older children and an active family who will walk him daily, keep him engaged, and give him structure and affection.
