Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. Your Current Pets - We do require that your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a home visit prior to adoption. Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.

Story
Nugget is a gentle, three-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a heart full of love. This sweet boy wants nothing more than to be by your side and feel safe. He’s still learning about the fun things in life—treats, toys, and going for walks—and he’s making wonderful progress every day. When he first arrived, Nugget had some mats in his coat and was underweight, but with care and patience he’s looking and feeling so much better. His skin is healing beautifully, his hair is growing back, and he’s eating well and gaining healthy weight. He also came in with a cloudy eye/cornea scratch, but thanks to daily ointment, it’s improving steadily. Nugget needs a home with a gentle, patient person who will reassure him, guide him, and show him kindness. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal little shadow and a loving companion. If you’re looking for a tender-hearted pup to cherish and help flourish, Nugget may be the perfect match. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Meet Baby Bruno! Bruno may be small, but he’s got a big personality—and a little spice to go with it! This clever, loyal pup is full of love once he feels safe with you. At first, he can be nervous around new people and situations, but with patience (and maybe a little cheese), his sweet and affectionate side shines through. Because Bruno can become nippy if startled or rushed, he’s looking for an experienced adopter who understands “spicy” dogs and is willing to respect his boundaries. A calm, low-traffic home without children will be the best fit for him. The good news? Bruno has plenty of great qualities to offer his perfect person! He’s housetrained, crate-trained, and enjoys the company of other dogs. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but he also does well on leash. To help set him up for success, Bruno’s adoption will include a couple of meet-and-greets and a home visit. He isn’t a dog for everyone—but for the right person, he’ll be a devoted and wonderful companion. Baby Bruno weighs 13lbs. and is approximately 4 years old (est. birth date 03/22/2021). Baby Bruno has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. Baby Bruno's adoption fee is $85. If you want more information about Baby Bruno, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Farley is a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix . He came to us matted, terrified, and confused. Farley loves walks, he loves food, and he enjoys being close to his people. He’s slowly learning how to play and that he is safe and loved. Farley is crate trained, rocking potty training, does great on a leash, and is very treat motivated. Farley would do best in a home with older children and an active family who would walk him daily. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies!
