Story
Meet Teddy 🧸 - Big Personality, Immediate Opening for One (1) Forever Family. Teddy is a 3-year-old, 9-pound pup whose confidence is growing daily. Charm? Already fully developed. Belly rub requests? Constant and non-negotiable. This little guy is smart, affectionate, and runs on one simple fuel: being with his person. Errands, car rides, couch sessions, doing absolutely nothing in particular — Teddy doesn't care what's on the agenda as long as he's on it too. 🐾 Indoors he is blissfully low-key — quiet, settled, and an Olympic-level window watcher. He'll use his crate like a champ, possibly with a brief editorial comment at bedtime before concluding that sleep is, in fact, a good idea. 🐾 His official interests include neighborhood walks, fetch with his beloved stuffy soccer ball, gentle brushing, and belly rubs — which he does not merely enjoy but schedules. Consider yourself warned. 🐾 Walks are going great — he's building confidence, rocking his harness, and has already successfully befriended a like-sized pup. He has also discovered that being carried is a perfectly legitimate form of transportation that offers excellent views, and he stands by this. 🐾 He's a little sensitive to quick movements around his head, and also has some resource guarding behavior, so he'll shine brightest with a patient, dog-savvy home — people who appreciate that the best things unfold gradually. Teddy is not a complicated dog. He just wants what we all want — someone to go through life with, a good walk, the occasional car ride, and daily belly rubs from someone who gets him 🧸🐾 If you are interested in finding out more about Teddy, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Teddy is being fostered in Boston, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Dash (formerly known as Zazu), a loyal little buddy with a big heart and a protective streak. He forms strong bonds with his person and thrives in a calm, consistent environment. Because of his devotion, an adult-only home—or even better, a single-person household—will be the best fit for him. Dash came to us from a hoarding situation where he had very limited social interaction with people or other animals. As a result, he’s still learning how to navigate the world and needs someone who can offer him patience, structure, and continued training to help build his confidence. He has so much potential and just needs the right person to help him come out of his shell. We would love to share more about Dash and what he needs to succeed. For more information, please give us a call at 508-867-5525.

Story
Meet Hercules Hercules is a sensitive, loyal dog who takes his time getting comfortable with new people. He isn’t a “love at first sight” kind of guy—he needs multiple meet-and-greets before feeling safe enough to go home—but once he trusts you, his bond is deep and devoted. With his person, Hercules truly shines. He loves going on walks (where there isn`t a lot of traffic walking past), playing with his toys, and winding down with some well-earned snuggles at the end of the day. He forms a strong attachment to one person and is happiest in a calm, predictable environment.Hercules would do best in a single-person household and cannot go to an apartment. He needs a home with more space and a stable environment. A home with no children living in or visiting is required. Because he bonds closely and can be protective, he needs an experienced, committed adopter who understands his needs. Continued professional dog behavior training would be a big benefit for him and will help set everyone up for success. If you’re patient, consistent, and looking for a deeply loyal companion, Hercules may be the perfect match for you

Story
We got Gizmo from a breeder that we used and knew for 10 yrs. She reached out to us because she had stage 4 cancer and needed a home for Gizmo. We got him when he was 3 months old, he just turned 2 yrs old on March 19th. He loves attention and affection and really enjoys sitting on your lap or next to you on the couch. He has a good amount of energy and really enjoys playing fetch or tug a war as well as running around with the other pups. He knows, sit and stay as I give those commands before every meal. The picture above is how he sits, I have never seen a pup do that before. It's an adorable trait!!! I am truly saddened that I will not be able to take him with me as my living situation has changed. I want him to go to a loving, caring and safe new furever home!!!

Story
Gizmo and Toby: a perfectly mismatched, completely inseparable duo of “brothers from other mothers” who are ready to write their next chapter—together. At 9 years young (with Gizmo proudly adding an extra 9 months of wisdom), these two Shih Tzu gentlemen are the definition of gentle, easygoing companions. After the passing of their beloved owner, they found themselves starting over, and while that kind of change isn’t easy, they’ve handled it with nothing but sweetness, resilience, and an unwavering bond with each other.Gizmo may be the smaller of the two, but he’s got just as much love packed into him. He came to us with a bit of a skin infection, and while he’s already on the mend with medication and regular spa days (yes, baths every couple days—he’s basically living at a wellness retreat), he may continue to have some ongoing skin sensitivities, likely related to allergies. Toby, his slightly bigger partner-in-crime, is right by his side through it all—equal parts cuddle buddy and moral support. When they arrived, both boys were underweight, but it didn’t take long for them to remind us how much they enjoy the simple pleasures in life—good meals, soft beds, and a game of chase-the-tennis-ball. They love going for walks together, exploring side by side like the little old men they are (but don’t tell them that—they still think they’re puppies). These boys are truly the full package: affectionate, friendly, and adaptable. They could do well in just about any home—with respectful kids, teens, other dogs, and even dog-savvy cats—so long as they get to stay together. That part isn’t negotiable. They’ve been through a lot, and their bond is their constant. If you’ve ever thought about opening your home to a pair of sweet seniors, Gizmo and Toby are here to show you just how special that kind of love can be. Twice the dogs, twice the love, and double the reason to come home smiling every day.
