Joseph is currently in a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport near one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, he will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Joseph is a possible Shih Tzu mix and around 1 to 1.5 years old (December 28) -Came into the rescue on December 26th. His family took great care of him, but there was too much going on in the household with family and the dogs were not getting enough attention. -Weighs -Acts like a puppy -Housebroken -Likes other dogs, came from a household with multiple dogs -Submissive to other dogs -Used to being indoors -Slept in bed with previous owner Video of Joseph from December 27: https://youtube.com/shorts/nCPk04ouLNA Joseph is neutered, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), has been dewormed and a fecal test, and on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Gracie spent 5 years in a puppymill before coming to us. She wants so badly to trust, her little tail will wag, but she is terrified because she was not treated very kindly in the mill. She keeps her pen clean and I carry her outside to do her business and carry her back in. We tried giving her the run of the house but she spent all her time hiding under the couch. We moved her into a pen where we can bend down and pet her and she can get used to human touch means love, not hurt. Gracie is so sweet with the softest fur and cute pushed in nose. He had been on the streets a long time by no fault of his own. Someone on a street in San Antonio knew him and his owner. His owner died and the family put poor ANDY on the streets. The neighbors felt sorry for him and would take turns feeding him. Once the winter got cold on a 26 degree night, a friendly neighbor put a sweater on him and allowed him to sleep in their gargage but that neighbor too tossed him back on the streets. Another neighbor could not stand it any longer and called me to take him in. It took 2 days to groom ANDY with the hard mounds of mats on him and he just sat there very quiet and patiently waiting to get all of the stuff off of him. Pictures are available. ANDY is 2 years old and 18 pounds and a great little guy. He really likes following me around but he is pretty independent, not a velcro dog although he does like to cuddle and be close to watch TV. He walks very well on a leash and does not get car sick and of course he still very well for a bath and to be groomed which he will need to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks.
