Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hello my name is Sasha I am a very lovable little lady. I may be 14 years old but still loving life.  I love to snuggle in my bed and every once in a while I will get the zoomies. I can't hear and I am blind in one eye. I would not do good with children under 12.I just want a home of my own to live out the rest of my life. Did you know small dogs can live to be 20?  Could I be your Pawfect match?Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2024, 3:39 pm

Story
Teddy is an adorable 3 yr old, 13 lb Shih Tzu.    He is an active and athletic Shih Tzu. Teddy will make a great companion for a devoted walker, as weather doesn’t affect his love of a daily brisk walk.   He needs a home where someone is frequently around, as Teddy prefers to be with his person and will happily keep you company wherever you go.   With just a little patience as he adjusts to his new home, this little guy will warm right up. He’s a young, small dog who is quick and will dart for an open door, so his adoptive home needs to be prepared to manage him around outside doorways. Teddy needs to be only dog, since he likes all the attention and all the treats! The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC and VA. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. An all-adult home (No Children) and a yard with a secure fence, 4ft high with with NO gaps larger than 1 ½ inches and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace, temporary fencing or community shared fencing are NOT considered secure fencing. No exceptions. There is an application process and adoption fee. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, North Carolina to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500April 23, 2024, 10:28 pm

Story
AMY, age 8, shitzu.  This little gal is well-mannered in the house, smiley and playful with other dogs ; we don't know about cats and we do not recommend kids. Amy is good on a leash, easy going and low key but she does need an adopter who can manage her separation anxiety and some health issues. Amy's trachea is deformed which causes a condition known as collapsing trachea. As a result she snores loudly, and needs to be walked on a harness (tightly fastened) not a collar and leash. This does not affect her quality of life and she has lived with this for many years. Amy has bonded with both of her foster parents but prefers the company of her foster Dad. She will follow you around but does not like to be held, so she is not a lap dog. Her foster writes, "Amy loves to be near her person or at least be able to see them. She does suffer from separation anxiety and will bark if she can’t see you. She doesn’t like to be alone. She is very vocal when it comes to food and demands to eat whatever you are eating so we are working on changing this!" Amy loves other dogs and would do best with at least one other dog, male or female, in the home. Her foster says, " She is quite laid back but enjoys going for daily walks. She is not overly affectionate and doesn’t like to be held much. But she will follow you around like a shadow and will lay near you at all times. " This dog is available and everything we know about this dog is included in the dog's description. We are only able to respond to questions once a completed application is received https://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. We do not respond to questions about our dogs sent through email or social media. Excellent vet references and a virtual home visit required. Your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We transport by land or air whenever possible. Unless there is definitive documentation our breed and age assessments are based on visual appearances.April 26, 2024, 10:47 am

Story
Rocky is a 12 year old, 16 Lb Shih Tzu.   Rocky is a senior who still has pep in his step and lots of love to give!  He enjoys the company of cats and other small dogs and does well with older kids!  He also enjoys a good belly rub and a nice snooze in your lap. Rocky is always happy to go on an adventure and meet new dogs and go new places!  He has a few medical conditions, so he will need medication likely for the rest of his life. We can discuss in further detail with any potential adopter once an application is submitted.    If you have room in your heart and  home for this loveable boy, please apply online at www. crisisdogsnc.org. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!April 26, 2024, 10:47 am
