Good with dogs,
Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 01/28/2026 Reason for being in rescue: Dexter was abandoned at a shelter in New Mexico. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter. Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Dexter is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 02/05/2026 he had a dental with extractions. We have no history on Dexter pre-rescue. He is a fluffy, mixed breed dog. Only a DNA test will confirm his true heritage. We cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed. Weight: 10.50 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $399 Fence needed? No What kind of home would be best for me? Dexter is a distinguished, mature gentleman who is searching for a cozy lap and a soft bed to call his own. He truly enjoys his naps and appreciates all the comforts that come with a peaceful, loving home. He enjoys meeting new canine friends and spending time alongside them, making him a lovely companion in a multi-dog home. With a little time to settle in, Dexter will make a wonderful, easygoing companion for someone looking to share their home with a calm, loving senior who still has plenty of life left to enjoy. What is my personality like? Dexter says age is number and he's here to provide it. He is surprisingly spry and full of quiet joy. When it’s time to go outside, he lights up and happily dances his way to the door, eager to enjoy the fresh air. Dexter remains playful in his own gentle way and finds comfort in the company of other dogs. While much of pet life is familiar to him, he will still need some guidance with basic skills such as leash walking and settling into household routines as he adjusts to a new environment.  Affectionate and sweet, Dexter enjoys being close to his people but also values his independence. He’s not demanding of constant attention and is perfectly content relaxing nearby, soaking up love when it’s offered. How do I act when I first meet new people? Dexter love meeting new people, but really, he is drawn to his doggy friends more so. Offer him a good soft bed and a buddy and he is all yours! Other tips and tidbits: We have no history on Dexter pre-rescue. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 11 years old. We celebrate his birthday 01/28/2015. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. February 12, 2026, 11:23 am

Story
Mabel is a sweet, devoted girl who loves being close to her people. She enjoys cuddling, being held, and relaxing beside her person. She would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, as she prefers companionship and is mostly laid back with occasional playful moments.   Mabel has a unique story that has only made her more special. The vet believes she was likely hit by a car in the past, which caused her to lose the use of one of her back legs. It does not slow her down or affect her sweet spirit. She gets around just fine and has adapted to her mobility difference.   Mabel gets along well with other dogs and cats, making her a great addition to a multi pet household. She is not a fan of car rides, so she would prefer a home where adventures are close to home and comfort is the priority.   If you are searching for a loyal, loving companion who will be your constant sidekick and fill your home with quiet affection, Mabel is ready to meet you and steal your heart. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2654344##

Story
Oscar Asparagus has been through the wringer, but you wouldn't know it based on his positive attitude. He is just the nicest guy you'll ever meet! Oscar came to us needing his eye removed, treatment for a deep abscess that went to his skull and was incredibly malnourished. Oscar was starving and had learned to eat his own feces to survive. He wasn't potty trained so we think his previous home environment was pretty bad. But Oscar is resilient! He's doing incredible with potty training. As long as we're careful to take him out frequently he doesn't have accidents anymore. Oscar Asparagus is crushing it with crate training. He happily sleeps in his crate all night, but isn't a fan of hanging out in his crate when people are home. Can you blame him? He's getting better at it though! Oscar hasn't been left home for long periods yet, but seems content in his crate with a chewy, based on what we've seen with our spy cam. Now that Oscar is getting to be a healthy weight he is no longer eating feces. Oscar loves other dogs. He hasn't met a cat yet, but had no reaction to the adoptable cats in cages at Unleashed. Oscar has been a joy to foster. He's very affectionate and will even let you hold him like a baby. He just wants to be near his person. As a Shih Tzu, Oscar A. needs an adopter committed to getting him groomed every 6 weeks and maintaining his coat with regular brushing. We had to have him shaved down because he was so matted, so we don't want that happening again. If you want the sweetest boy in the world to be you new best friend, apply to be Oscar Asparagus's person today!

Good with dogs,
Story
Meet Pipkin! Pipkin is a 3-year-old, 15-lb Shih Tzu/Maltipoo mix with a soft white-and-tan coat and an even softer heart. He’s a happy, peppy little guy with an energetic yet submissive personality who’s always excited to be part of whatever is going on. Pipkin loves food, cuddles, playing with other dogs, running around, and being near his people. One of his foster family’s favorite things about him is the way he smiles when he greets you—his whole face lights up when he’s excited, and it’s impossible not to smile back. He does well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company. Loud noises aren’t his favorite, but otherwise he’s an easygoing pup who settles in nicely. Pipkin is crate trained and currently working on house training. He’s doing well but may occasionally have an accident indoors, so continued consistency and patience will help him succeed in his forever home. Pipkin walks well on a leash, is not a big barker, and doesn’t dig or chew. He would be a great match even for a first-time dog owner. Overall, Pipkin is a joyful, affectionate little companion who would fit into many types of homes. He’s ready to bring smiles, cuddles, and a whole lot of happiness to his forever family. He is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines. Contact us today at adopt@carolinapaws.com to make Pipkin part of your family. Please note we do not accept applications outside of the greater Charlotte, NC area and immediate surrounding counties.
