Mia is a 4 year-old, 13lb Shih Tzu mix with a big personality wrapped in a petite, adorable package. Shes a girly girl with a touch of sass who loves her plushy toys, going for rides, and sporting her favourite hair bows.Mia is cautious when meeting new people and may bark at first if she feels threatened, but with slow introductions and gentle patience, she warms up into a loving and loyal companion. Shes especially fond of nuzzling into your neck and giving little nose kisses once she trusts you. She has done well with kids aged 8 and 10 years old , and would do well in a home with respectful kids. She is house-trained and doing well with crate-training. She enjoys brushing sessions once she feels safe. While she may need coaxing on walks due to her skittish nature, she eventually settles in and enjoys exploring the outdoors. Mia has a medium energy level and minimal separation anxiety, making her a well-rounded companion for someone with a calm, dog-savvy lifestyle. Her ideal family will have a quiet home and plenty of patience to help her continue blossoming.Name: Mia (aka Duchess)Breed: Shih tzu mix Age: ~4 years Weight: ~13lbSex: Female, spayedColour: RedMedical: No concerns Good with men: Yes, with slow intros Good with women: Yes, with slow intros Good with kids 0-6: Unknown, but suggest no due to her being timid Good with kids 7-15: Yes, has been around kids and enjoys being around them When the dog meets new people, she: Does not want to interact at first, but warms up, Will barkGood with dogs: Yes, prefers dogs of similar size who like to play chaseGood with Cats: No, will chaseCrate training: Enters crate with coaxing, must be placed in crate, Settles after some barking/whiningHouse trained: YesResource Guarding: None seenWalks on a leash: Nervous and needs coaxing, Once she feels confident and past her skittishness she walks well, sometimes pullingEnergy level: Medium Areas to work on: Confidence building Any noted separation anxiety?MinimalBarker: Average

Story
Meet Pepsi 🐶✨ Pepsi is a 5-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing approximately 25 lbs and currently working hard on her weight-loss journey! Currently being fostered in Brantford ON Through no fault of her own, Pepsi found herself in foster care—and she settled in immediately. She’s a wonderfully adaptable girl who has even spent the holidays travelling with her foster family. While she does experience some mild car anxiety, she does beautifully when she can sit with a trusted human by her side. Pepsi has been exposed to children as young as 3, dogs of all sizes (from tiny 2 kg pups to extra-large 60 kg friends), and even cats—and she’s done fantastic with everyone! She is a loving, social sweetheart with excellent people skills. Pepsi is very respectful and clear about her boundaries and communicates beautifully with other dogs when she’s had enough—always in the kindest way. She has never shown any aggressive or mean behaviour toward people or animals. She’ll happily run around with other dogs but is still learning how to play. Toys aren’t really her thing yet, but belly rubs? Those are her absolute favourite! Pepsi is both house-trained and pee-pad trained when needed. She’s flexible with sleeping arrangements—free-range in the living room at home, or happily curled up on her own bed while travelling. Best of all, she’s not destructive. Medically, Pepsi has been diagnosed with luxating patellas and mild dry, flaky skin. When she was spayed, she also had her umbilical hernia repaired. She is fully healed and up to date on all vaccinations. Overall, Pepsi is an incredible cuddle-bug with nothing but positive vibes to offer. She would thrive in almost any loving home and is ready to find her forever family. 💕 Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given. Story
This sweet dog sees with their heart and has so much love to give! Benji may not see with his eyes, but his other senses are on overdrive! He'll recognize you instantly by the sound of your voice and the unique scent of your hugs. This loving 2 year old Shhtzu mix is the most resilient, heart-filled pup you'll ever meet. He lost his eyes due to an untreated disease. But those days are behind him and now he has had vet treatment and is healthy, neutered and microchipped. From his wagging tail that never stops to his impressive "mapping" skills around the house, Benji is loving his foster siblings and home. His joy is unmatched, and he’ll bring you endless laughter and snuggles. He navigates his world with trust and confidence, reminding everyone around him to live in the moment. Blind dogs adapt quickly to a consistent and loving home. In return, the bond you build is an unbreakable connection built on pure trust. We have placed many blind dogs and are happy to connect you with other families for tips and support. If you're looking for a loyal, cuddly companion who will love you unconditionally, Benji is the one for you. Our preference is for a home with a fenced yard and another dog to help Benji learn the ropes. Please email us at c4ptoronto@gmail.com for an application and information.
