Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Could she do well with kids? Yes, with children 10 years and older.Could she do well with other dogs? Yes, on a dog-by-dog basis.Has this dog lived with cats? Unknown. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Adalind can be a friendly but mostly independent dog who prefers her own space and showed little desire for direct interaction. She tolerated husbandry handling but didn`t seek it out. Adalind enjoyed exploring indoors and outdoors but hesitated to cross doorways, possibly due to discomfort or a preference for the outside. She displayed low-level guarding behavior with stuffed toys, becoming tense when Monroe, her dog companion, or I approached, but did not attempt to bite. She engaged appropriately in play when invited, running around the room with Monroe and me.While eating, she preferred to eat without being handled. Adalind showed moderate stability around everyday objects and loud noises, but was frightened by the umbrella—she sought comfort from Monroe. She was initially hesitant around new people but improved quickly with proper handling. When meeting a new dog, she showed curiosity.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Snoopy is an adorable 4 year old, 13 pound Shih Tzu looking for his happily ever after! He is a phenomenal guy as long as nothing of high value such as bones or long lasting chews are involved and he is crated while humans eat. If those two rules are followed, he is PERFECT! Snoopy is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, and does well with other small dogs. He is great for grooming but does get squirmy for the water part. He is great for vet visits unless blood needs drawn, then he needs some sedative medication beforehand or he flails like a helicopter. Snoopy is great at giving clear signs of being unsure during his settle in time to a new environment and if you follow his ques, he will be your vest friends, and allow all handling in a weeks time. If you are willing to set some small boundaries and be patient, this handsome boy could be perfect for you! To adopt Snoopy, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, neuter, dental, and all the love you can handle!
