Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bailey is a beautiful, 1 year old, 12 pound Shih Tzu looking for her happily ever after! She is very outgoing, and loves to snuggle, play with toys, and be silly. She lived her life in a tiny closet before coming to us so she is learning how to be a dog. She will potty on pee pads and outside, but is always wanting her human along for support. She is all finished with her vetting, and in perfect health despite her rough start. Bailey rides well in a car, is crate trained, great with other young dogs, and will be a wonderful addition to a lucky family! To adopt Bailey, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, spay, and all the love you can handle! NOTE - Bailey will not be adopted with her littermate, Brookland.  PA Kennel License 17652 Lebanon, PAVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 15, 2025, 4:06 pm

Story
Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617**Due to Sarah needing spayed, her adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBDCould she do well with kids? Yes, with children around 12 years, on a kid-by-kid basis.Could she do well with other dogs? Sarah can be selective with other dogs. Multiple meets might be necessary.Has this dog lived with cats? Yes. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Sarah is part of a group of animals that came into our care due to an animal hoarding situation. These dogs lived in a large pack, free to roam the home, but they didn’t receive much individual attention or socialization with new sights and sounds. Many of them have never worn collars, are unfamiliar with leashes, and being outside is frightening. While you can catch glimpses of their unique personalities, most of these dogs are not accustomed to functioning independently and can easily become overwhelmed. They are very loving animals but lack the confidence to seek out interactions. At this time, all members of the group should be considered flight risks.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Story
DOB 4-30-2025 DeChen is looking for his new home and Mom! He's a beautiful Shih Tzu with a good personality, loves to play and gets along with others. DeChen is complete on all medical, up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. This boy will come with all his registration and medical papers. His adoption fee is 900.00, his transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they are the best and deliver to East Coast every other week. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Meet Your New Pocket‑Sized Sidekick: Birdie Mae!! (Aka: Bird Dog, Bird, Birdie Girl) This little 10‑pound Shih Tzu may be tiny, but her personality is huge. She’s the perfect mix of calm companion and spirited sidekick—equally happy curled up in a blanket on the couch as she is trotting around the yard with the big dogs. She enjoys watching the neighborhood from her bird nest on the back of the couch! About Birdie: • Great personality — affectionate, social, and full of charm • Small but mighty — currently living with a large golden, a 90‑lb Rottie, and a 45‑lb mix, and she keeps up with all of them • Dog‑savvy kids only — best suited for respectful, experienced kids ages 8+ • Potty trained — uses a fenced yard reliably and also walks beautifully on leash, pottying on walks too. Regression is possible and expected when transitioning to a new environment. • Professional napper — loves to sleep anywhere…be it right next to you or burrowed into every blanket she can find. • Spayed and ready for her forever home 🩺 Special Care She does have allergies that require ongoing care and medical visits. • Daily medication • Special food • Medicated baths • Regular grooming to help keep her skin healthy and her hair neatly done. She’s doing wonderfully with her routine and will thrive with a family committed to maintaining her care plan. She’d love a home where she can be included, adored, and kept on track with her allergy care. And maybe even some friendly canine siblings to snuggle with!!! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! I'm a sweet, sweet pup.  LOVE other dogs.  I'm not going anywhere without a fenced yard and another dog to play with.  I came from a bad situation and he's now in jail and I want to LOVE life FUREVER Requirements:  Fenced Yard.  Another small dog in the house.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!
