Story
Are you searching for the perfect lucky charm? Look no further, you've found her!
Meet Clover, a three-year-old shih tzu/poodle mix. Clover is a sweet, friendly dog, and has puppy-level playfulness with none of the destruction! At only 14 lbs, she packs a lot of personality in her small frame! She loves to go for walks, play with her stuffed toys (and any scrunchies/socks her foster family leaves lying around), and snuggle with her family members.
Clover is house trained, but some regression is expected when she is transitioning homes. She is friendly with other dogs, but would prefer a home where she can be the center of attention and get all of the affection her family can dole out! She loves respectful kids, but due to her petite size, and because she does not like to be squeezed, children in the family should be 8+.
Clover loves cats... maybe more than they love her! She must have had feline friends before coming into rescue, because she likes to play with them. She will try to play 'chase' so her adopter would need to have a dog-friendly cat or a cat-free home.
Clover considers herself a guard dog and likes to look out the window to let you know when visitors or packages are arriving. She follows her foster parents around the house and loves nothing more than to be with them. She will try to follow them out the door, so potential adopters will have to be careful she doesn't do so. School pickup is one of her favorite times of day, when she can see her kids and meet her canine neighborhood friends.
She walks well on a leash, but prefers a harness over a collar. She also loves to run around her neighbor's fenced in backyard, so one in her adopter's home would be a plus, but not a requirement. She does not like to be crated, but is fine with gates. Clover prefers to be hand fed her food, or for her food to be placed directly on a silicone mat or plate vs. a bowl. She has a sensitive stomach, so new food and treats should be introduced slowly.
Clover is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, heart worm negative and on preventatives, and has recently had a dental. Due to her fur, she will need to be brushed regularly and groomed every 6-8 weeks. Her adoption donation is $450.
