Percy is a 2-3 yr old Shihtzu mix weighing 15 lbs. He is from the Pearsall shelter and came to our rescue completely neglected. He is a good boy and loves to sit on his hind legs and give prayers in his crate. haha. He gets along with everyone in his group, especially the ladies. Percy is heartworm negative and Chagas positive but don't let that deter you. With treatment, Chagas is fully curable, and dogs go on to live long, happy lives. He is 35 pounds and a medium-small dog that is 5 years old and just built sturdy and solid. He has a bit of Shih Tzu in him with that Terrier. Now his personality is just the opposite, he is sooooo well-mannered with a curious behavior. He follows me around like a student waiting for me to guide him and teach him what to do. TANK is mellow, very quiet and just goes with the flow. He never bothers the other foster dogs and they do not bother him. He is crate and potty trained, walks well on a leash and jumps right in the car ready to go wherever. This guy would be a great first dog or a dog for someone who is not that active because the daily maintenance on him is very low. He does enjoy a leisurely walk though because he likes to sightsee. We know he is some type of terrier mix but not sure what kind and he will probably need to be groomed every 3-4 months to keep his pretty golden coat looking good. He had been on the streets a long time by no fault of his own. Someone on a street in San Antonio knew him and his owner. His owner died and the family put poor ANDY on the streets. The neighbors felt sorry for him and would take turns feeding him. Once the winter got cold on a 26 degree night, a friendly neighbor put a sweater on him and allowed him to sleep in their gargage but that neighbor too tossed him back on the streets. Another neighbor could not stand it any longer and called me to take him in. It took 2 days to groom ANDY with the hard mounds of mats on him and he just sat there very quiet and patiently waiting to get all of the stuff off of him. Pictures are available. ANDY is 2 years old and 18 pounds and a great little guy. He really likes following me around but he is pretty independent, not a velcro dog although he does like to cuddle and be close to watch TV. He walks very well on a leash and does not get car sick and of course he still very well for a bath and to be groomed which he will need to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks.
