Story
Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 4-year-old Shih Tzu blend with a heart as big as his smile. This happy little guy greets each day with a wagging tail and a joyful spirit that is simply contagious. Rocky is social, friendly, and loves being around people. Whether he's joining you for a walk, relaxing on the couch, or making new friends, he's happiest when he's part of the action. His cheerful personality and sweet nature make him an easy companion to love. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will fill your home with smiles, laughter, and unconditional love, Rocky is ready to be your perfect match. He's excited to start his next chapter with a family that will cherish him as much as he'll cherish them. PS He currently has an appointment to check on his right eye; it may have to be removed he is receiving meds now so he will need to go for a follow up! Rocky is also one of our Special Ambassador Dogs, which means his adoption fee is a little higher—for good reason. His fee helps support other dogs in our rescue who have greater medical expenses or specialized care needs, giving them the same opportunity to find loving homes and happy endings. By adopting Rocky you're not only changing his life—you're helping other deserving dogs get a second chance, too.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tawny! Please thoroughly read my bio  Tawny's life didn't start out easy. She and her sister were found living on the streets in heartbreaking, neglected condition. Despite everything she's been through, Tawny has remained an incredibly sweet, gentle dog. She is truly the definition of a perfect companion—house-trained, great in the car, easy on a leash, calm, quiet, and wonderful with people, kids, and other dogs. Tawny loves being close to her people and is happiest curled up in a comfy spot. Her only flaw? She does not like cats and will absolutely chase them, so she needs a cat-free home. Tawny is currently being treated for Chagas disease. She has had extensive veterinary testing, including comprehensive bloodwork and an echocardiogram, with results showing everything within normal limits. She does have a Grade III/VI heart murmur and recently developed focal seizures, both of which are being managed with veterinary care and medication. Tawny is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. The adoption fee for Tawny is $400. To apply, please visit www.adoggie4you.org. Tawny is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Unfortunately, we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 21, 2026, 2:39 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Quinn! Quinn's story is one of resilience, healing, and unconditional love. She was found abandoned on the streets alongside her sister in heartbreaking condition. Severely neglected, Quinn was covered in painful mats, suffering from extensive hair loss caused by poor nutrition and flea infestation, and struggling with serious eye issues that had gone untreated for far too long. Since coming into rescue, Quinn has received extensive veterinary care and has been under the supervision of a local veterinary ophthalmology specialist. After numerous tests, treatments, and medications, we now know that Quinn has severe chronic dry eye, a condition common in her breed. Unfortunately, this has resulted in significant scarring of both corneas. The good news is that Quinn's right eye is responding well to treatment, and with lifelong medical management, her vision can likely be preserved. Her left eye has faced additional challenges, including a corneal ulcer and infection, but after completing her course of antibiotics and ongoing care, she has shown remarkable improvement. Despite everything she has endured, Quinn remains one of the sweetest dogs you could ever hope to meet. She is calm, gentle, affectionate, and happiest when curled up in your lap. Quinn is not a barker, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and has an easygoing, laid-back personality that makes her a joy to have around. Quinn is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention and Bravecto flea and tick prevention. We have not yet tested Quinn with cats or children, so those situations are currently unknown. Adoption Fee: $400 To apply for Quinn, please visit www.adoggie4you.org. Quinn is currently located in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Please note that we are unable to transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 21, 2026, 2:39 pm

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This brother and sister duo are GINGER & CHARLIE.  They are very bonded and cannot be separated.  They would do best in a home together.  They play, play and play some more until it is time to eat and take a nap and then play some more.  Both of the love playing with the other small breed scruffies in the house. GINGER is the cream and tan one and only has one eye.  I do not know what happened to her left eye before I got her but it was a dead eye with no sight causing infection and the vet advised to have it removed. She is the more social of the two dogs. CHARLIE is the brown and tan one with the cutest underbite that just makes him cuter.   Both walk well on a leash and ride in the car without getting car sick.  They sleep together in their crate, on the floor in a doggy bed or on the couch.  I try to prohibit them getting on the couch but CHARLIE loves it up there and GINGER follows.  I cannot say which one if the leader because they follow each other around with activities. Neither of them is aggressive or protective of anything or each other.  Of course they love their treats and not big eaters.  They are crate and house trained.  They are not destructive with human things but CHARLIE likes to take my shoes as soon as I take them off.  He only moves them to their doggy bed, he does not chew on them, just moves them and then moves on to the next adventure. These pure breed Shih Tzu's were owner surrendered because the owner just could not take care of them any longer.  BOTH are 4 years old, GINGER is 10 pounds and CHARLIE is 12 pounds even though they look the same weight and small.  More pictures are available. Their adoption fee is $600 as a pair, transportation is available to most of the United States.  If you are interested in adopting them as a pair, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This stout short & stocky guy reminds me of a heavy and strong TANK so that is what I named him.  He is 35 pounds and a medium-small dog that is 5 years old and just built sturdy and solid.  He has a bit of Shih Tzu in him with that Terrier.  Now his personality is just the opposite, he is sooooo well-mannered with a curious behavior.  He follows me around like a student waiting for me to guide him and teach him what to do.  TANK is mellow, very quiet and just goes with the flow.  He never bothers the other foster dogs and they do not bother him.  He is crate and potty trained, walks well on a leash and jumps right in the car ready to go wherever. This guy would be a great first dog or a dog for someone who is not that active because the daily maintenance on him is very low.  He does enjoy a leisurely walk though because he likes to sightsee. We know he is some type of terrier mix but not sure what kind and he will probably need to be groomed every 3-4 months to keep his pretty golden coat looking good. If you are interested in adopting TANK, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org   ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.
