Story
Meet Milrany! Named after the Melissa road where she was found, Milrany has quite the story, and an even bigger personality. After overcoming some serious medical challenges, she's healthy, happy, and making up for lost time with adorable zoomies that will have you wondering if she's really 5 years old. Milrany is sweet, smart, and incredibly devoted to her people. She can be a little cautious when meeting someone new, but once you've earned her trust, you've got a loyal best friend for life. She loves other dogs, gets along with cats, and is perfectly happy cheering on the big dogs from the sidelines while barking encouragement. She's house-trained, sleeps happily in her crate next to her foster mom's bed, and would be thrilled to graduate to snuggling in bed with her forever family. Most days, though, she's content to curl up in a soft dog bed, keep an eye on her favorite person, and sneak in a few cuddles whenever possible. Milrany has a permanent puppy face, adorable poodle-like fur that hardly sheds, and a PhD in begging (we're working on that!). She doesn't need a ton of exercise—just regular potty breaks, a cozy place to nap, and someone to love. If you're looking for a loyal little companion with a zest for life and enough sweetness to melt your heart, Milrany is ready to meet you! Stats: 5 years old, 10 lbs, spayed, low exercise, low shedding, dog and cat friendly, diet: C/D dog food

Story
Owen is seven years old and 20 lbs. His family adopted him as a puppy but no longer has time to care for him. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. If you have a place in your heart for this sweet senior, please apply online and we'll be in touch. Here's what his family shared with us: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society Owen has been a beloved member of our family since he was a puppy and has been loved for the past seven years. He grew up alongside my children from the time they were 2 and 4 years old, making him a wonderful family companion throughout their childhood. Owen is incredibly affectionate and loves being with his people. He gets excited to greet family and visitors when they come home and never turns down belly rubs, ear scratches, or cuddling on a soft, cozy bed. He enjoys following his people from room to room and is happiest simply being near the family. During thunderstorms or loud weather, he appreciates having someone close to help him feel safe. We completed a DNA test that showed Owen is about 45% Shih Tzu, although he looks much more like a Dachshund mix. He has lived peacefully with our cat for years and enjoys having a feline companion. Owen is more of a laid-back dog and prefers calm, respectful dogs over energetic ones. He is happy to coexist but isn't interested in rough play or being constantly pestered by other dogs. Owen is house-trained and crate trained, although he much prefers having the freedom to relax around the house when his family is home. He loves comfortable places to nap and has an easygoing personality that fits well in a calm home. He is neutered and current on all vaccinations. Owen is a sweet, loyal companion with so much love to give, and we truly believe he will thrive with a family that can provide him with the time, affection, and companionship he deserves. We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
When Ziggy first came to Rescue Row, the world felt like a scary place. New people made him nervous, and his instinct was to protect himself by snapping. Thanks to patience, consistency, and ongoing training, he’s learning that people can be trusted.Over the Fourth of July weekend, Ziggy reached a major milestone. His foster family had several guests over, and each person followed the same training techniques that have helped build his confidence. Instead of reacting with fear, Ziggy stayed calm and accepted the visitors into the home. His foster family was amazed at how well he handled the situation. He’s also developed a special friendship with the grandmother who visits each week. Watching him happily greet someone he once would have been unsure of is a great reminder of how much progress he’s made. When he’s not working on his confidence, Ziggy is a fun, happy little dog. He loves his daily walks, chasing tennis balls around the backyard, wrestling with his dog friends, and collecting every ball he can find. He has plenty of energy for adventures, but he’s just as happy curling up in your lap at the end of the day.Ziggy also loves car rides and is learning that the best place to enjoy them is safely buckled into his car seat.Ziggy is looking for a forever family that will continue helping him grow. He will do best in a home with another playful dog, someone who is home most of the day, and a family committed to continuing the training that has helped him succeed. Because of his needs, he is not a good fit for apartment living or as an only dog. He would also do best in a home with children 12 years and older.Ziggy is a 9 month old Miniature Pinscher/Shih Tzu mix who weighs just 8 lbs. He’s come a long way, and now he’s ready to find the family that will love him for exactly who he is. If you’re interested in adopting Ziggy, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee  Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee  Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##2722046##
