Story
Romeo and Juliet were both street dogs, traveling everywhere together, looking for food and love. They were finally picked up by animal control in Georgia where they remained on a stray hold until they could be released. Animal control soon realized that Juliet was pregnant by Romeo so they called us to see if we could get them out of there before she gave birth. We had them immediately transported here to Tennessee and two weeks later she gave birth to 7 puppies. Sadly one was stillborn but the remaining 6 are all healthy happy babies who have all been adopted. Now it's Juliet's turn. She is crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and heart worm negative. Juliet is very high energy but extremely lovable. She is excellent with my 3 year old granddaughter and as you can see in the photo, fine with cats. Wouldn't you love to give her a loving and forever home! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION ADOPTION FEE $700

Story
You know they say GOOD THINGS come in two’s…well this pair of beautiful senior girls are absolutely the definition of that “saying”.  Pulled from a poor home with no running water nor electricity, Hazel and Sassy are at your beck and call.  This perfect little dynamic duo are 10 pounds or less, loving, great on the leash and they are joined for life in a forever bond.  They are the best little girls who are said to be Shih Tzu mixes and Sassy is about 5 years and Hazel is around 9-10 years old.  Sassy is the white and red girl and Hazel is the darker brindle girl with one eye.  They are healthy and completely vetted with bloodwork, all shots done, fecal and giardia test done, microchipped, spayed, heartworm test done and full exam.  They are quiet, house trained and they are the easiest little ladies you will ever meet.  They are NOT runners and they are just looking for a quiet, calm, content home to lay their head for the rest of their life. They are the REAL DYNAMIC DUO DEAL!   Contact us at Critter Cavalry Rescue at  ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.April 23, 2024, 9:08 am

Story
Lil’ Ole’ Spud is a gentle soul. He is a Shih Tzu/Poodle mix weighing in at about 10 lbs. He is approximately 9-10 years old. Spud was found stray and was never reclaimed by his owners. He came to Homes Fur Hounds in pretty rough shape. He had various infections, and his hair was terribly long and matted. He is hearing and visually impaired. Clearing up the secondary infection in his eyes helped, but his eyesight will likely not improve, and it is possible he will lose his sight completely at some point. We are hoping an appointment with a specialist can tell us more. Blind dogs just need some time and patience to adjust, but usually do just fine in the right home. His back end is a bit weak too. Some of that muscle may build back up as his nutrition continues to improve, but he is not going to be a long walk or hike kinda guy. Short strolls or backyard wanders are much more his speed. When he does wander outside, he takes his time going potty. He usually goes more than once before he's done. He does have a heart murmur, so he requires minimal activity. Spud is now neutered, UTD on all vaccines, free of infections, and microchipped. He is looking for a quiet home with limited stimuli. He is still getting used to losing his sight so a lot of activity makes him nervous. Especially movement around his face. He does fine with other gentle pets with a slow introduction. Young children or active, playful pets will not be very good for Spud. A home with stairs will not be great for him, but as long as his new family is willing to carry him it will be fine. A few baby gates may be needed to avoid him taking a tumble. Spud is a pretty good eater and sleeper. He does need his food softened though; he doesn’t have many teeth left. He loves to sleep in a soft bed. He will go in a crate, but he doesn’t love it. He does much better being confined in a room where he can move around. He is perfectly happy in his foster's kitchen when they are not home. He has not been destructive or chewed anything in his foster home. Spud does bark on occasion when he wants to get your attention or smells your yummy food, but not really a random yapper. He is also doing great with his housebreaking. Someone with a regular routine will be perfect for him in this area. The only thing Spud really hates is having his face touched. Yikes….he really freaks out when you go near his face. You can stroke him gently if you move slowly toward him, but any intentional movement toward his eyes, ears or mouth is not something he tolerates. He doesn’t really like his feet touched either. Aside from that, he is a super chill little guy looking for the right place to live his best life. If you are interested in meeting this little guy and giving him a wonderful quiet home our application can be found at www.homesfurhounds.org.

Story
Rocky is a 16 month old male neutered Shih Tzu mix. He’s a fun and happy guy with a lot of energy! He loves to play fetch with his favorite toys, go on walks, and he’s eager to learn and please! Rocky is super smart and has picked up on basic commands such as sit, come, stay, lie down, and go to crate. He even “asks” to be let up on the sofa when it’s time to relax at the end of the day. Rocky thrives on routine and structure. We are looking for a savvy adopter who will continue to provide Rocky with a structured environment to ensure his success in his new home! Rocky gets along well with other dogs, but can be a little pushy if a dog is very timid. We have not cat tested him. He will not be allowed to go to a home with children even though he seems to really adore them. He is crate trained and house trained. Rocky has a few behavior issues we are happy to discuss with a potential adopter but we are confident his issues can be overcome! We will require training classes with a reputable dog trainer when he is adopted to ensure his good behavior is reinforced.
